Both have dropped a significant amount of weight ahead of the fight, and Bjornsson took to Instagram to reveal his latest transformation.
The Game of Thrones star – known as Thor – boxed in an exhibition against Irish cruiserweight Steven Ward in January.
But Hall, who was hit with criticism of his boxing skills by UFC legend Joe Rogan, has remained unfazed.
The Brit has undergone a drastic body transformation of his own, despite still eating 7,000 calories a day during training.
He revealed he cut down to 25st 5lb in the summer.
And that is still over two stone heavier than Nikolai Valuev, the heaviest champion in history.
But punching legend Eric ‘Butterbean’ Esch weighed as heavy as 29st 7lb the night he fought Joe Siciliano in 2007.
Hall would far outweigh the current crop of heavyweight stars, and his coach wants the former World’s Strongest Man to one day be among them.

The trainer, who goes by the name Lydon, said: “I’m seeing massive differences every time Eddie comes to training.
“I give him something to work on, he comes back and he’s nailed it.
“We’ve got him from being like a man who is like a steel bar and quite rigid because of his size – the size is still there – but now he’s got a lot of whip in his punches.
“He’s really punching crisp and hard.
“I said to Ed that by the time he boxes Thor, I want him in the position where he’s able to box any British heavyweight.
“He’s doing ringcraft, technique and by the time he’s ready to box this time next year I feel Ed will be able to box any British heavyweight.”

Game of Thrones star Hafthor Bjornsson targets shock Tyson Fury fight after Eddie Hall grudge match in new boxing career

HAFTHOR BJORNSSON has set his sights on a showdown with Tyson Fury – but not before knocking out Eddie Hall TWICE.
The Game of Thrones star is set to throw down with his fellow powerlifter in September in a fight that has been billed ‘The Heaviest Boxing Match in History’.

Icelandic juggernaut Bjornsson is confident of getting the better of Hall, so much so he’s contemplating facing WBC heavyweight champion Fury.
He told The Metro: “When I do anything I always look at the top and the top right now is Tyson Fury obviously, but we’ll see in two years’ time who is on top then.”
Bjornsson, however, doesn’t see himself locking horns with Fury anytime soon.
He said: “There’s probably going to be a rematch against Eddie Hall, so I’ll be in the sport for probably the next two years.

“After the rematch we’ll see how I feel, how much I have improved. I’m not getting any younger – I’m 32 years old so I need to improve very fast if I see myself competing more.”
Despite only having had one exhibition fight – a draw against Northern Ireland’s Stephen Ward – to his name, Bjornsson will happily take on all comers after besting Hall.

He added: “If the right opportunity came along…Let’s say in the Eddie fight…obviously my plan is to knock him out.
“Let’s say I knock him out the first and the second time and some big name says: ‘Who the f**k does he think he is? Thor, you’re nothing, I’m going to knock you out, I challenge you.’
    “That could happen.
“No one has seen a guy my size before and imagine if some big name would challenge me because they want to shut me down.

“That would be a huge opportunity for me and I probably wouldn’t turn it down.”
Bjornsson, who has dramatically trimmed down ahead of his clash with Hall, took great confidence from his clash with Ward.
He said: “What probably surprised me the most, not really surprised, but the thing I learned the most from the fight is that I just need some more training.
“You never know, I was quite surprised how much I enjoyed myself in the ring, so I don’t want to say ‘no’ [to future fights] because I’m just enjoying this journey so much now and having so much fun. If I make huge improvements then why not?”

Bjornsson gave a good account of himself on his boxing debut in Dubai

Bjornsson showed some decent footwork, movement and jabbing technique against Ward, and even dropped the pro boxer on one occasion.
But the three-round fight, with each lasting three minutes, ended in a stalemate.
And speaking afterwards, the 2018 World’s Strongest Man winner declared he will KO British rival Hall when the duo collide in Las Vegas later this year.
Bjornsson, who also holds the world-record deadlift at 501kg, said: “I have huge respect for this sport, this is just the beginning.

“I will be in the best shape of my life in September this year and I will knock Eddie Hall out.”
Meanwhile, Ward was full of praise for his much bigger opponent.
Ward said: “What a night. The exhibition is over and big Thor hits like a horse.
“But it was great. It was quite exciting, it was a great set-up and it was class having a crowd finally back watching boxing. I never expected Thor to be that fit.”

“The hatred is 100 per cent real. If I saw Thor face-to-face it would take a lot for me not to punch him in the face.”

Bjornsson posted the 20-minute clip to his 508,000 subscribers in July 2020.

He captioned the post: “Skuli and I decided to try out new gloves.
“You have been asking for more boxing.
“Here you have little bit from the session the other day. More is coming…”
One concerned fan commented: “With all the respect I have for Hafthor, it will be a long way to avoid to get KO on the 1st round, best of luck!”

Another replied: “Hey big boy, get with it man. More sparring, more bag work, man. Let’s go.”
A third wrote: “You need to start using your feet to move different directions, you can’t go into boxing ring moving only forward you will get knocked out, brother.
“Learn a bit of shadow boxing today it will help you win the fight…
“You never throw a bodyshot? Uppercut?
    “Come on big’un, I’m worried.”
After reading some of the comments, Bjornsson felt compelled to reassure fans he is being coached… and that the video was actually old.
He added: “I have two coaches right now helping me. This is two weeks old video btw.”
Rival Hall has even claimed he “wouldn’t p**s on Bjornsson if he was on fire.”

Amongst other things, the pair rowed over Bjornsson’s world-record deadlift and Hall’s win at the 2017 World’s Strongest Man competition.
And Hall, 32, has made it even clearer just how much he hates the Game of Thrones star.
Hall, who has been training intensely during lockdown, told The Mac Life: “Me and Hafthor have been big-time competitors for a long time.
“We’ve got a hell of a history competing against one another.
“We absolutely f***ing despise each other beyond belief.
“If he was on fire I wouldn’t p**s on him.

“When the boxing came around it was a no-brainer. I get to settle a score and make a few quid, it’s a win-win.
“I know I’m going to win because I’m going to give it my all, and if I’m confident then you’re f***ed.
“Thor, this is my message to you: you are f***ed. I’m going to fold you in f***ing half.”

Hafthor Bjornsson vs Steven Ward tale of tape: How boxers compare as Game of Thrones star has 12 STONE weight advantage

STRONGMAN legend Hafthor Bjornsson is gearing up to make his boxing debut against cruiserweight Steven Ward.
The Game of Thrones star, also known as ‘The Mountain’ from the hit TV show, will step into the ring for the first time in the exhibition scrap.

The bout will serve as a warm-up for Bjornsson’s highly-anticipated clash against British rival Eddie Hall next September.
The fight was originally supposed to take place in Iceland but will now be put on in Dubai on January 15.
SunSport takes look at how the two men shape up:
    AGE
Northern Irish boxer Ward has the narrow advantage over Bjornsson when it comes to age.

The 30-year-old is two years younger than his 32-year-old strongman opponent.

‘The Quiet Man’ will be dwarfed by ‘The Mountain’
    EXPERIENCE
Ward again comes out on top here having made his professional debut back in 2016 and currently boats a 13-1 record.
The Belfast brawler most recently bounced back from his sole defeat with a six-round points victory over Jone Volau on his cruiserweight debut.
Bjornsson meanwhile has only ever sparred and will be lacing up his gloves for the first time against Ward this month.

And SunSport revealed last year that the Icelander left fans unimpressed after posting clips of his boxing training.
    PHYSICAL
But it is here where novice Bjornsson remains the heavy favourite in the contest – which will be held over three three-minute rounds.
The TV sensation weighed in over 32 STONE when he set a world record for the deadlift back in May.

Bjornsson revealed in September 2020 that he has dropped down to 26 stone with further cuts planned after realising his boxing ambition.
Yet he is still expected to weigh around double Ward – who only recently moved up to 200lbs as a cruiserweight.
At a towering 6’9, Bjornsson is also seven inches taller than the former WBO European light heavyweight champion.
