The two Brits played FIFA together in an event hosted by Gamers Without Borders – a charity aiming to provide Covid-19 vaccines around the world.

United academy graduate Lingard has enjoyed a huge resurgence this year as he spent the second half of the season on loan West Ham.

The 28-year-old guided the Hammers to European qualification but his efforts on the pitch have clearly come at a cost for his FIFA skills.

Joshua meanwhile proved his fast hands in the ring translate effortlessly to the controller as he guided Liverpool to victory over Lingard-controlled Chelsea.

The 31-year-old then decided to rub it in by filming his win on Snapchat while singing along to the Reds famous song – You’ll Never Walk Alone.

A hilariously unimpressed Lingard stuck his fingers in his ears to drown out the lyrics and fans on social media were huge fans of AJ’s efforts.

One tweeted: “I’m a United fan but this is top banter!”

Another said: “Sign him up Jurgen! Any chance he can play a number 6?” while a third added: “Wouldn’t have happened if Jesse used United”.

Speaking after the games, Joshua said “I want to give credit to my opponent. He came with great enthusiasm, his morale was high.

“I felt like I kept my team together, they gelled well and we managed to get the victory.

“Thanks to the team, management, and the supporters for tuning in. Can’t wait to do it again Jesse.”
