Alex Scott joins FIFA 22 to make history as the game’s first-ever female commentator

ALEX SCOTT will make history as the FIFA game’s first-ever female commentator. The SunSport columnist, 36, is enjoying a stellar rise in her role as a pundit.

And her latest gig will see her included in FIFA 22 next season.
Arsenal and England legend Scott replaces Alan McInally as the pitchside reporter in Career Mode.
The 140-cap Lionesses hero has excelled in her media work since hanging up her boots in 2017.
She provides analysis for Sky Sports and BBC Sport – but is also enjoying presenting, too, and will replace Dan Walker as Football Focus host from the new season.
Writing for SunSport regarding her Euro 2020 coverage with the Beeb, Scott said: “I have to pinch myself every time I’m in the studio covering England as a pundit at Euro 2020.
“Before I went on to win over 140 caps for my country, I was always a fan.

“As a kid, I would pull on an England shirt and try to replicate goals from the greats like Gazza, Alan Shearer, and Teddy Sheringham.
“So it gives me goosebumps to now be on screen as part of the BBC’s presenting line-up for the tournament.
“Obviously, we’ve got a job to do when we’re analysing the teams but I can’t stop myself from going mad when England score.”
Popular video game FIFA will also add Stewart Robson as a co-commentator alongside Derek Rae.
Former Arsenal player of the year Robson, 56, made 150 league appearances for the Gunners before joining their in-house TV channel.

Kylian Mbappe confirmed as face of FIFA 22 as PSG ace is made cover star of hit EA Sports game for second year in a row

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN forward Kylian Mbappe has been confirmed as the face of FIFA 22.The Frenchman will once again act as the cover star for EA Sport’s hit series for a second successive year following his appearance on last year’s title.
⚽ Follow ALL of the latest news and updates from Euro 2020 with our live blog
Kylian Mbappe has been confirmed as FIFA’s cover star for a second successive year
The Paris Saint-Germain star is the first back-to-back athlete since Cristiano Ronaldo
The American publishing giant announced Mbappe had retained his spot on the front of FIFA 22, due for release in the autumn.
His selection means the 22-year-old is the first player to remain cover athlete since Cristiano Ronaldo fronted both FIFA 18 and FIFA 19.
Mbappe said: “Being on back-to-back FIFA covers is amazing.
“I have a very special relationship with the game and look forward to enjoying FIFA 22 alongside all of you.”

Mbappe will hope next year’s FIFA doesn’t carry the same curse that has seemingly plagued a number of it’s cover stars in the past.
Despite scoring loads, PSG lost their domestic dominance in the league to Lille while their European campaign also ended in disappointment.
Mbappe then failed to find the net for France at the Euros this summer with his penalty miss costing Les Blues in their match against Switzerland.
The FIFA cover curse has been particularly lethal in recent years, with both Marco Reus and Eden Hazard enduring injury-hit seasons when they debuted on the front of FIFA 17 and FIFA 20 respectively.

Theo Walcott was one of three to grace FIFA 10 only for the winger to miss out on Fabio Capello’s England squad for the World Cup.
A year later, Kaka’s picture fronted the popular video game series but the Brazilian only mustered 14 games for Real Madrid that season.
Jack Wilshere missed the entire campaign for Arsenal on the year he was FIFA 12 cover star with Mbappe himself suffering a knock last term.

Anthony Joshua trolls Jesse Lingard after beating Man United ace on Fifa with arch-rivals Liverpool

ANTHONY JOSHUA has delighted fans by trolling Jesse Lingard after using Liverpool to beat the Manchester United star on FIFA 21.The two-time unified world heavyweight boxer made light work of the England international on EA Sport’s popular football game.

The two Brits played FIFA together in an event hosted by Gamers Without Borders – a charity aiming to provide Covid-19 vaccines around the world.
United academy graduate Lingard has enjoyed a huge resurgence this year as he spent the second half of the season on loan West Ham.

The 28-year-old guided the Hammers to European qualification but his efforts on the pitch have clearly come at a cost for his FIFA skills.
Joshua meanwhile proved his fast hands in the ring translate effortlessly to the controller as he guided Liverpool to victory over Lingard-controlled Chelsea.
The 31-year-old then decided to rub it in by filming his win on Snapchat while singing along to the Reds famous song – You’ll Never Walk Alone.
A hilariously unimpressed Lingard stuck his fingers in his ears to drown out the lyrics and fans on social media were huge fans of AJ’s efforts.
One tweeted: “I’m a United fan but this is top banter!”
Another said: “Sign him up Jurgen! Any chance he can play a number 6?” while a third added: “Wouldn’t have happened if Jesse used United”.

Speaking after the games, Joshua said “I want to give credit to my opponent. He came with great enthusiasm, his morale was high.
“I felt like I kept my team together, they gelled well and we managed to get the victory.
“Thanks to the team, management, and the supporters for tuning in. Can’t wait to do it again Jesse.”

Anthony Joshua hits back at Jesse Lingard as pair set up FIFA showdown to ‘see who the real heavyweight champ is’

HEAVYWEIGHT champ Anthony Joshua has called out his next opponent… Manchester United star Jesse Lingard.Thankfully AJ doesn’t want to meet the winger in the boxing ring, with the two agreeing to do battle on video game FIFA.

Jesse Lingard, 28, doesn’t think so – and reckons he’ll beat the heavyweight champ on June 21Credit: Getty
Lingard, 28, was the first to pipe up by tweeting: “So Anthony Joshua thinks he’s king of the ring and FIFA!
“Well I’m gonna show him June 21 at 11.30am UK time as part of the world’s biggest charity eSports festival Gamers Without Borders
“Lets see who’s the real heavyweight champ.”
Gamers Without Borders is a charity aiming to distribute the Covid-19 vaccine to underdeveloped countries.
Several celebrities have agreed to get involved in the scheme, including Joshua and Lingard.
AJ couldn’t believe the audacity of Lingard’s tweet, responding: “No chance, Jesse Lingard [followed by a laughing emoji]. See you there.”

Joshua’s next opponent in the boxing ring is likely to be Oleksandr Usyk, defending his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles.
The 31-year-old needs to beat the undefeated Ukrainian if he wants to keep the dream of a unification fight with Tyson Fury alive.
The Gypsy King faces Deontay Wilder in their trilogy fight on July 24 and is also under pressure to keep his WBC crown.
If both British heavyweights can win their respective bouts, one of the biggest fights in British boxing history may finally take place later this year.
There’s still a chance AJ’s fight with Usyk may collapse, with Andy Ruiz Jr – the only man to defeat Joshua professionally – believed to be waiting on standby.

Pele’s ultra-attacking FIFA 21 team will leave you drooling with Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Mbappe and Son

PELE has chosen an ultra-attacking FIFA 21 side, available to challenge within the game. The Brazilian, arguably the greatest player in history, attempted to cram in as many attacking players as he possibly could.
    Pele isn’t bothered about defending

Only two out and out central defenders feature, while the 80-year-old didn’t bother with any midfielders.
His team is about one thing – attack, attack, attack.
German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer gets the nod between the sticks.
While Sergio Ramos and Thiago Silva are picked in defence.
The duo are joined in a back three by ultra attacking wing-back and former Pele team-mate Carlos Alberto – scorer of one of the great World Cup final goals in 1970.
Midfield doesn’t really exist for Pele, so he has plonked compatriot Neymar and former rival turned pal Diego Maradona in the centre of the park.
Mo Salah and Son Heung-min are shoehorned in as wing-backs – with Spurs fans likely to remember the latter’s disastrous attempt at playing the position during their 2017 FA Cup semi-final loss to Chelsea in which they went down 4-2.
The front three is then packed with even more flair, speed and goals.
