Man Utd legends Gary and Phil Neville in hilarious Instagram spat as Sky pundit brands brother a ‘bell’ over 1k sprints

MANCHESTER UNITED legends Gary and Phil Neville were involved in a hilarious Instagram spat that saw Sky Sports pundit Gary branding his little brother a “bell.”

England women’s boss Phil had been out training, days after confirming that he was set to step down as Lionesses coach when his contract expires next summer.

The 43-year-old shared news of his workout on social media with a selfie on Instagram alongside the words: “6 x 1km sprints! (Horrible session).”

However instead of praise or admiration for his hard work, Phil was immediately digged out by older brother Gary.

The former England assistant replied: “Can’t sprint 1k you bell.”

Phil fired back: “Some can Gary.”

The ex-Everton player later tagged his fellow Salford City co-owner in an Instagram post saying “Good support” and fans couldn’t wait to join in on the brothers’ banter.

One referenced Gary’s ill-fated stint in charge of Valencia by posting: “managerial career was more of a sprint than a marathon.”

Another said: “Haha no love for Phillip.”

A third added: “Challenge him to a 1k sprint sorted!”

User ‘Cal29lee’ wrote: “I believe Gary.”

While one more joked: “Haha some brotherly love that is!”

Phil Neville has been regularly pictured out for a jog near his Chesire home following the news that he is set to step down as England women’s boss.

A new manager will replace the former Manchester United star for the home Euros, which have been delayed by coronavirus until 2022.

The Lionesses’ dismal run of only three wins in their last 11 began with a battling 2-1 World Cup semi-final defeat by the USA last summer.

And Neville himself called their displays in last month’s SheBelieves Cup “unacceptable”.

Losses against the US and Spain then came either side of a patchy 1-0 win over Japan.
