Man City snap up highly-rated Celtic teenage starlet Josh Adam in transfer coup after beating off German competition

CELTIC have lost highly-rated academy youngster Josh Adam to Manchester City.

SunSport told in April how the attacking midfielder, 16, was set to be poached by the Premier League giants.

It’s believed the talented teenager was wanted by a number of clubs across England and Germany.

But City have won the race for his signature and Adam will move down south this summer, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Adam caught their eye when he dazzled for Celts at the Marc Overmars tournament in Holland and was named player of the competition.

The news will come as a bitter blow to the Hoops, having lost another top prospect.

Last summer, defender Liam Morrison rejected a new contract to move to Bayern Munich.

Neil Lennon had hoped to convince the Scotland Under-17s to stay at Parkhead by involving him in pre-season fixtures.

But the youngster moved to Germany and is now managed by World Cup winner Miroslav Klose in the youth side.

The steady stream of talented kids leaving the club is of a growing concern to Hoops chiefs.
