CHAMPIONSHIP clubs are looking at finding a neutral venue to play two of the biggest dates on their calendar.

The EFL’s showcase division plans to stage games at home venues when football restarts.

But they are keen on ONE legged play off semis.

Those fixtures are among the most volatile in the season.

And even staging them at empty grounds would cause potential problems on the streets.

The second legs have often been a powderkeg with so much at stake and that needs to be avoided more than ever.

So the search for a suitable ground – possibly with a hotel – would see the matches played at a neutral and safe home.

Venues like the MK Dons ground and even Bolton’s stadium fit those bills if they are available.

There are also large Premier League venues that could be lying empty and unused if the elite clubs go down their own neutral route.

The final is still pencilled in for Wembley, with the so-called richest game in football, the grand finale of their season.
