Scott Brown spotted with Celtic-daft WWE star as Hoops legend watches treble triumph in Florida

SCOTT BROWN captained Celtic to their unprecedented quadruple treble success. But the Hoops icon took-in this weekend’s latest treble triumph in very different surroundings!

Celtic beat Inverness CT 3-1 at Hampden to wrap-up their 8th domestic clean sweep – a new record.
Goals from Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada gave the Hoops a 2-0 lead before Daniel MacKay struck late on to make things a little bit more interesting.
But Jota then found the net in the opening minute of added time to put the result beyond doubt.
Callum McGregor was the man to hoist the famous old trophy aloft, a task that had become so familiar to Brown during his silverware-laden spell at Parkhead.

It’s now been two years since Brown, 37, left Celtic after 14 years.
Brown is now manager of EFL League One outfit Fleetwood Town, who finished their campaign in early May.
Broony, therefore, is now on his summer holidays ahead of returning to pre-season in preparation for the new season which starts on the first weekend of August.
And he’s been spotted in Florida – proving that he certainly hasn’t left Celtic behind him!

Brown made sure to watch the Scottish Cup Final, heading to the Lucky Leprechaun Irish pub in Orlando to take in the big match.
It’s home to the Orlando CSC, and he was spotted alongside another famous face.
Glasgow-born wrestling star Joe Coffey made his name in Scottish promotion Insane Championship Wrestling before being snapped-up by WWE in 2018.
Having competed in the organisation’s UK division he’s now made his name in the USA as big star on WWE’s NXT brand, which is based out of Orlando.
And Hoops-daft Coffey linked-up with Brown to watch the Hoops triumph.
Brown posted a photo of himself alongside the wrestling star.
The ex-Parkhead skipper emerged as a contender for the Celtic manager’s job with Ange Postecoglou’s future in doubt.
Postecoglou is the odds-on favourite to become the new Tottenham boss and the Premier League giants are expected to seek talks early this coming week.
The 57-year old wouldn’t be drawn on his future after the Hampden triumph, but hinted at a goodbye with an emotional message to the Hoops supporters.
He said: “I have appreciated the support I’ve had from day one.
“Because of the way I came into the football club – without beating about the bush – I was ‘a joke’.
“A lot of people made fun of me – but the supporters for their own reasons put their collective arm around me and said ‘no he’s one of ours’.
“It was up to me to repay that faith. The reason they felt so close to this team and so close to me was because while others may have mocked, they stood behind me.

“I think they deserve a lot of credit for what has happened because it would have been easy for our supporters to have been just as sceptical given the reaction to my appointment.”

He said on Joe Rogan’s podcast: “I’ll tell you what though, one thing he doesn’t wanna do is fight Mike.
“He wants to fight Mike, I think. Mike’s in good shape too. Mike trains everyday. Yeah, he don’t wanna fight Mike.”

Rogan added: “Like, I don’t give a f*** if you think he’s 55-years-old, that guy will hurt you.
“If Jake Paul’s on the other side of the ring and sees Mike Tyson just f*****g bobbing and weaving, he’s gonna have a recognition.
“He’s gonna look over and go, ‘Oh my God, that’s really Mike Tyson.'”

It led to the likes of Paul, 26, being aligned with the heavyweight icon for a similar spectacle showdown.
The American most recently lost to Tommy Fury, 23, in February and returns on August 5 in Texas against ex-UFC star Nate Diaz, 38.
Tyson was a special guest in Saudi Arabia the week Paul lost to Fury and admitted it had him reminiscing about his heyday.
He said on his podcast: “I just always wanted to be a fighter. That’s all I wanted to do my whole life was be a fighter, nothing else.
“I miss this stuff, I didn’t think I’d miss it until I was at the weigh-in in Saudi Arabia for [Paul-Fury]. You miss being the centre of attention.”
Tyson has been linked with a rematch  with Jones as well as a trilogy bout against old rival Evander Holyfield, 60.
Up until now Iron Mike has remained happy in retirement but leaves the door open to another exhibition.
Tyson told TMZ Sports: “I don’t know, I’m just chilling out.

“I did that, I wanted to do that, I did that. People also in Saudi Arabia want me to do this stuff too. I don’t know, I could be persuaded.”

The American hasn’t boxed since, having focused his efforts on the WWE after signing a deal with them.
And Tyson talked down the chances of fighting Paul for real, despite making a boxing comeback of his own in 2020 for an exhibition bout.
He said: “I don’t think he’s really that serious [about a boxing match], but I’m just happy he’s receiving the success that he has.

I used to be Man Utd’s physio.. Jaap Stam performed a brutal WWE move on me at Gary Neville’s house party

BEING a football physio means having to deal with plenty of injured players. But this former Manchester United physio ended up on the sidelines himself.

Thornley has opened up on Stam’s wrestling prowess
That’s after Jaap Stam performed a brutal WWE move on him while at Gary Neville’s house party.
Stam played for United between 1998 and 2001, making 127 appearances while winning a Treble and two further league titles.
The Dutch defender was famous for his no-nonsense reputation.
And he further cemented himself as one of the greatest centre-backs in history with strong spells at Lazio, AC Milan and Ajax.

However, while Stam worked hard, he liked to play hard too.
Former Man United physio Rod Thornley can testify to that, having been ‘suplexed’ by Stam while at a house party hosted by team-mate Neville.
Stam picked up Thornley during the bash and began performing a wrestling move on him, leaving onlookers speechless.
Thornley told Undr the Cosh: “I think if you cross the wrong people in that dressing room you were gone very quickly.

“I mean look at Jaap Stam. That’s a big example of it. He said some bad things about the Nevilles and bang he’s gone out the club.
“He was a great lad. I remember him f***ing picking me up at a house party once and suplexing me on the sofa. I was like: ‘What you doing? We’re in the middle of a house party!’
“(I did) Nothing! Just walked past him. It was a big house party at Gary Neville’s house and he just picked me up and f**ing suplexed me onto the sofa… (I said) ‘What the f*** Jaap!'”
Stam’s United exit in 2001 remains controversial, with Sir Alex Ferguson allegedly axing him for comments the ace made in a book appearing to criticise the club.
Fergie previously said: “When I think of disappointments, obviously Jaap Stam was always a disappointment to me, I made a bad decision there.”
Stam himself opened up on the transfer in his autobiography, saying: “I soon realised the club wanted to get rid of me. They also needed the money.
“Very soon the book became an issue again. It led to a conflict between me and the manager.
“He told me that I had to be transferred. Then he said, ‘Will you please move to Lazio quickly?’ I agreed to do it. Right there and then.

“One quick conversation in my car at a petrol station in Manchester was enough for me to leave that big club.
“When I think about it now, and I have never talked about it before, I find it unbelievable I let that, as a player, happen to me.” More
