Arsenal and Tottenham combined XI as bitter rivals battle it out to finish fourth in Premier League this season

ARSENAL and Tottenham continued their battle for fourth place at the weekend with both teams picking up wins.Spurs laid down the gauntlet with a comfortable 3-1 win over Leicester thanks to a fantastic Son Heung-min double and a header from Kane.

But the Gunners responded well with a 2-1 win at West Ham which means the north Londoners remain separated by just two points.
With little to separate the two sides it could all come down to the North London derby – which takes place on May 12.
A look at the two sides and their current available players shows just how well matched they are, with Arsenal just about winning out in a combined XI.
Such a topic is no doubt fiercely debated amongst the set of fans – even the goalkeeper position will not reach a consensus.

are ‘number one contenders’ to sign Osimhen, O’Hara’s HARSH verdict
Aaron Ramsdale has impressed in his debut season at the Emirates with Hugo Lloris making a couple of costly errors this season.
Mikel Arteta also added Takehiro Tomiyasu to his squad last summer and the right-back has impressed when fit, forming a good partnership with Bukayo Saka down the right flank.
Granit Xhaka also looks revitalised with Martin Odegaard impressing ahead of him – but the combined XI includes Spurs’ January signing Rodrigo Bentancur who has adapted well to the Premier League since arriving from Juventus.
The front three picks itself with Son and Bukayo Saka arguably enjoying their best ever seasons in the Premier League.

Arsenal 4 Tottenham 0: Spurs new-girl Alex Morgan forced to watch Lisa Evans-inspired Gunners run riot from stands

AMERICAN superstar Alex Morgan was forced to watch as Lisa Evans hit a hat-trick to fire rampant Arsenal into the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
Jordan Nobbs broke the deadlock with a superb chip on 73 minutes.

Lisa Evans’ hat-trick inspired Arsenal to a 4-0 win over Tottenham in the FA Cup quarter-finals

Evans doubled the lead one minute later and the Scottish international wrapped it up with two more to continue the Gunners’ bid for a record 15th FA Cup.
Spurs’ statement signing Morgan, who has won two World Cups, a Champions League and an Olympic gold medal, spent the afternoon wrapped up in the stands.
Morgan has been out of action for over a year due to injury and giving birth to her daughter, Charlie, just four months ago.
Spurs boss Karen Hills said: “Alex has been incredible. She’s come out of her comfort zone and wants to come to England and try something different.

“We felt it was important for her to be part of matchday preparations and to get her in shorts and socks and get her in a matchday environment.
“She’s nervous and hasn’t been in that situation for the past year.

New Spurs signing Alex Morgan watched the game from the stands
“She is a great leader and has fantastic experience.
“Having someone like that around the changing room is fantastic, but it was just not meant to be today.

“She’s working really hard, growing day by day and physically is in great shape.”
Her Orlando Pride pals, Shelina Zadorsky and Alanna Kennedy, made the starting XI, having also penned short-term deals.
Spurs started brightly and Arsenal stopper Manuela Zinsberger came close to gifting them the opener after she was almost caught out playing out from the back.
Kennedy lofted a header agonizingly close to the far post in the second half.

But the Gunners have had a player hit a hat-trick in their last three games  and boss Joe Montemurro joked: “We draw straws over who gets a hat-trick and we pick a player!
“I was very pleased with the second-half when we came out and stepped it up a gear.”
Hat-trick hero Evans added: “We didn’t want to go to extra time and penalties so we had to get it done in 90 minutes.”

Arsenal ratings: Lacazette the bright spark but same old woes at the back cost Gunners in 2-1 defeat at Tottenham

ARSENAL striker Alexandre Lacazette’s worldie was the only bright spark as the Gunners went down 2-1 to rivals Spurs.
Mikel Arteta’s men dominated for large parts but conceded an equaliser 137 seconds after Lacazette’s spectacular 16th minute opener.

Arsenal conceded late on as Toby Alderweireld headed home from a corner
Sead Kolasinac’s dreadful pass let Son Heung-Min in to dink over Emiliano Martinez.
The Gunners started the second half with more intent than their opponents but came unstuck at a corner when Son found the head of Toby Alderweireld to win the game with nine minutes left.
After the first North London derby at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, here is how SunSport’s Josh Graham rated the Arsenal performances.
    Emiliano Martinez – 6/10
Forced into action barely 30 seconds in before later watching Son dink the ball over him.

Looked sharp often sprinting out of goal to deny Spurs, did his No1 claim no harm despite conceding twice.
    Shkodran Mustafi – 4
The German returned to his shoddy former self when letting Harry Kane nip past him too easily after the break.
At least twice he dived in needlessly letting Tottenham players skip past him as if he was not even there.
    David Luiz – 5
Turned with the speed of a cruise ship as Son raced clear for his goal but the Brazilian was ultimately betrayed by the ball from Sead Kolasinac.

    5

    Sead Kolasinac – 3
Woefully wayward pass left David Luiz in desperate trouble for Son’s opener.
    Never recovered.
    Hector Bellerin – 6
Impressed on the right, especially going forward.
Had the pace to keep Lucas Moura quiet for the most part.
    Kieran Tierney – 5
Plenty of endeavour down the left but sometimes just missing the final ball.
Outjumped by Toby Alderweireld for Spurs’ second goal.
    Dani Ceballos – 6
Not at his best in the first 45, criminally thumped a dangerous free-kick straight into the advertising hoardings.
Woke up after the break and started bossing proceedings when Arsenal had the ball, could argue he got the better of Harry Winks.

    5

Arsenal celebrated Lacazette’s cracking openerCredit: Reuters
    Granit Xhaka – 6
Influential in setting up Alexandre Lacazette’s thumping effort.
Continues to silently regain the fans’ trust after the horror episode at the Emirates last year.
    Nicolas Pepe – 6
Caught in possession early, but came back well.
Always a threat, cutting onto his left and looked bouyed by Mikel Arteta’s complimentary pre-game words.
    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 6
    Went close with a first-half free-kick.
Grew into the game, smashed the crossbar with a left-foot effort.
    Alexandre Lacazette – 8
Opened the scoring with an absolute worldie.
Held the ball up expertly but his efforts weren’t matched by his team-mates.
