Man Utd face Youri Tielemans transfer battle with Real Madrid and Barcelona also ‘monitoring’ Leicester star

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that a host of top clubs are now keeping tabs on the midfielder ahead of the next summer transfer window.
Romano reports that United, Real and Barca are among the Belgium international’s suitors.
The Italian journalist added that that this could be one of the most prominent transfer sagas of the coming summer.
United will reportedly make a move for the 24-year-old if they lose Paul Pogba next year.
Pogba’s contract with the Red Devils runs out in June and he doesn’t look close to signing a new deal any time soon.
The star midfielder has previously been linked with a move to Real, who are still keeping tabs on him.

Thus, a potential departure by the France international could clear the path for United to land Tielemans.
According to ESPN, though, West Ham star Declan Rice will also be included on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer list should the Old Trafford manager lose Pogba.
Tielemans has amassed a total of 18 goals and 19 assists in 112 appearances for Leicester across all competitions.
But none of his goals was more critical than his screamer during last season’s FA Cup final, which led to victory over Chelsea at Wembley.

Real Madrid plan to pull off Kylian Mbappe transfer by hiring Luis Campos – the man who discovered PSG superstar

REAL MADRID are upping the ante in their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe with the club rumoured to be considering recruiting Luis Campos.Reports claim the club believe the ex-Lille director – who is thought to have close ties with the striker – could strengthen their chances of signing the France ace.

Real Madrid reportedly believe recruiting Campos as a sports director could help them sign MbappeCredit: Getty
And Spanish newspaper Marca claims the club believe Campos, 56, could be key in helping them acquire one of Europe’s most feared centre-forwards.
The reports come after a phenomenal season at club level for the Paris Saint-Germain star, who was one of the shining lights for France during their disappointing Euros.
The Parc des Prince forward, 22, who has one year left on his current contract, netted 42 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions.
And SunSport reports the Bernabeu side were open to selling Raphael Varane to Man United to fund a move for his international team-mate Mbappe.
Campos was employed as a Madrid scout and tactics guru from 2012 to 2013 during Jose Mourinho’s tenure.

And the Portugal-born football expert is reported to have developed close ties with Madrid president Florentino Perez before becoming Monaco’s sporting director in 2013.
It was there that Campos is thought to have nurtured warm links with a then 14-year-old Mbappe starting out on his career in the Ligue One club’s academy.
However, the former Madrid scout is keen to play down his connection with the PSG striker.
In a L’Equipe interview, Campos said: ‘It’s true that I know the family well since Kylian was 14 years old. We have a great friendship, but that’s all.”
Campos would go on to take up a sporting director position at Lille from 2016 to December 2020 boosting his credentials as one of Europe’s best scouting specialists.
The Daily Mail claims the club is undergoing a restructure behind the scenes following the June appointment of new manager Carlo Ancelotti.
And following his Stade Pierre Mauroy departure last year, Campos has been heavily linked with a return to Spain and the Bernabeu.
But the former Lille director has downplayed speculation concerning a move back to Madrid.
Campos told L’Equipe: ‘I had a very good relationship with the president and the directors
“But, for now, I can assure you that there is nothing (agreed) with anyone.”
Reports claim Madrid could find themselves battling Mbappe’s current employers PSG for Campos’ services.

The Paris giant’s current sporting director Leonardo has come under pressure following the club missing out on a Champions League trophy last season.
However, Campos has poured cold water on rumours linking him with the Parc des Prince side.
Campos added: “Is Leonardo going to leave? I may be tough in negotiations, but I’m not a liar. I assure you that I have not spoken to anyone at PSG.”

But despite their exit, Hazard was seen joking and laughing with his ex-team-mates in the aftermath of the match.
And Courtois’ father Thierry has ripped into the the Belgian following Real Madrid’s defeat.
Speaking on the HLN Sportcast podcast, he said: “It’s really not smart for Eden to do that.
“He probably didn’t think twice about it, but those images are painful for Real Madrid fans.
“If you see a player laughing two minutes after being eliminated, I’d say it was unprofessional.”
And he was not the only one left angry with Hazard’s response to their European exit.
Late-night football chat show host Josep Pederol labelled Hazard ‘another Bale’ and said he cannot stay another second at the club.
Hazard joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 for a huge £88.5million – potentially rising as high as £150m with add-ons.

Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard and Sergio Ramos are Real Madrid’s top earners
But he has been plagued with injuries ever since arriving in Spain, playing just 40 times and scoring a mere four goals.
As a result, he is now reportedly being lined up by Madrid as a player they will get rid of in the summer, according to Marca.
Hazard is thought to be expendable along with Marcelo and Isco, but he will not be an easy man to usher out of the Spanish capital.
Hazard is on a £400,000 per week contract and many clubs will steer clear considering his persistent injuries.
Real Madrid currently sit second in LaLiga, two points behind table toppers Atletico Madrid with four games remaining.

And 90min reports Madrid have decided there is no room for Odegaard as they plan to rebuild the squad.
It is a decision which is said to have left the former teenage wonderkid ‘heartbroken’.
The report states Odegaard is upset after being told to find a new club but that he would favour a full-time move to the Premier League.
Arsenal could struggle to muster the £40million Madrid are looking to recoup.
The report suggests the Spanish side have already spoken with three of the Gunners’ Prem rivals as they look to get the best deal for their asset.
Chelsea have been linked with hijacking any Arsenal move for Odegaard with their deep pockets meaning the Blues could swoop in after Mikel Arteta and Co failed to agree an option to buy in the player’s loan deal.
Madrid are reported to be looking to offload Gareth Bale and Dani Ceballos with £150m of loan talent up for grabs as they seek a headline move for Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe.
Arsenal risk missing out on Europe entirely as they sit ninth in the league after Saturday’s crushing 3-0 defeat at home to Liverpool.

They face Slavia Prague in the quarter finals first leg on Thursday.
The Emirates brass need some income if they are to cough up the £200,000 a week the player is looking for as well as the sizeable transfer fee.
French champs Paris Saint-Germain and Serie A leaders Inter Milan are also thought to be monitoring his situation.

Real Madrid’s Marcelo under investigation and faces fine after appearing to break Covid rules on four-hour Valencia trip

REAL MADRID star Marcelo is under investigation after appearing to breach Covid-19 travel restrictions by leaving the Spanish capital to travel to the beach with his family. The Brazilian left-back left himself facing a four-figure fine by publicising a photo showing him relaxing in the sun at Malvarrosa beach in Valencia, a four-hour drive from his home.
Real Madrid star Marcelo shared a picture on his Instagram page showing him relaxing under the sun with his familyCredit: Instagram
He was pictured relaxing with his actress wife Clarice Alves and their two children Enzo, 11, and Liam, five.
The Real veteran, who signed for the Spanish giants from Fluminense in 2006, captioned the holiday snap: “Sunny Sunday in Valencia”, prompting an immediate like from team-mate Casemiro.
One of the footballer’s 46 million followers reacted to the photo, which showed Marcelo and his family with no facemasks on and in apparent breach of restrictions preventing travel outside of Madrid without a justified cause: “It angers me that famous people like you rub our faces in it.
“You can leave Madrid but poor people like us can’t.”
Another added: “Rules and regulations are put in place for something, not so that people with money can do what the hell they want.”
A third raged at Marcelo: “Do you think you’re better than the rest and lockdown shouldn’t apply to you?”

Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard and Sergio Ramos are Real Madrid’s top earners
There was no immediate comment from the footballer to the criticism he received.
Regional government health chiefs in Valencia confirmed they had initiated proceedings which could lead to fines for breaching Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Local reports said the total fine could be up to €2,800 (£2,392) – consisting of four fines of €600 (£513) for any travel breach and four fines of €100 (£85) for going without facemasks.
Marcelo, who reportedly earns over £20,000 a day, shouldn’t have too many problems paying up if he and his family are hit with a fine.
The footballer was given time off during the international break and is expected back for training at the start of this week along with other players that haven’t been called up.
The Covid-19 restrictions currently in place in Spain prevent travel outside of peoples’ home regions. The few exceptions include travel for work or humanitarian reasons.
Facemasks are mandatory in public places. In the Valencian region, which covers the city of Valencia as well as towns and cities further south like Benidorm and Alicante, bars and restaurants have to close at 6pm.
More than 75,000 people have died from coronavirus in Spain since the start of the pandemic. The total number of Covid-19 cases currently stands at more than 3.2 million.
In the Madrid region nearly 15,000 people have died.

Tottenham and Everton transfer target Lucas Vazquez ‘issues Real Madrid contract ultimatum as deal runs down’

REAL MADRD have been issued with a contract ultimatum by star winger Lucas Vazquez, according to reports.
Vazquez’s deal at the Santiago Bernabeu runs out at the end of the season and talks over a contract extension have hit a snag.

Real Madrid ace Lucas Vazquez has issued a contract ultimatum

According to ABC, the Spain international is asking for a four-year extension with a 15 per cent increase in his wages and wants it all to be sorted within this month.
The 29-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham and Everton in the summer, turns 30 in July and wants to seal the last major contract of his career.
If Real meet his demands then Vazquez’s annual salary would rise north of €5million-a-year (£4m).
But Los Blancos are only willing to offer a three-year extension and have to impose a 10 per cent reduction on all players’ contracts due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Club sources claim that Real can’t meet his demands when players like Luka Modric, Casemiro, Luka Jovic and Arsenal loanee Martin Odegaard have agreed to the same cuts ahead of next season.
That may prove a boost for Tottenham and Everton’s hopes of securing a deal of their own.
The versatile Spaniard, who can also play as a midfielder and right-back, will become a free agent if he doesn’t put pen to paper on a new contract by the end of the season.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho and Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti were in charge of Real while Vazquez was cutting his teeth in the academy.
That could work as an incentive for the Real ace, who seems determined to continue playing at the top level.
Real manager Zinedine Zidane wants Vazquez to stay as he’s held a regular spot in his starting line-up this season, amassing 27 appearances across all competitions in the process.

Barcelona ordered to make huge salary cuts with wages capped at £300m while Real Madrid can INCREASE theirs to £409m

BARCELONA and Atletico Madrid have been ordered to make massive salary cuts as the cost of Covid continues to hit LaLiga.
But Real Madrid are able to increase their budget and now have a significant advantage over their two main rivals.

Under the new regulations Barca’s outgoings on wages, previously capped at £331m, will now be further limited to £300m.
Atletico, currently five clear at the top of La Liga with a game in hand over both of their main rivals, face a budget cut from £218m to £188m.
But Real have seen their cap rise from £405m to £409m, giving them 36 per cent more to spend than Barcelona.
The calculations come after clubs had budgeted for the return of fans in the second half of the season, which has not happened.

Real are spending this season playing their home games at their training ground while the Bernabeu is undergoing reconstruction and renovations.
La Liga chief Javier Tebas revealed that £96m had been taken off the overall club budgets as a result of the pandemic, with only Real and Huesca seeing their caps raised.
Tebas said: “Covid-19 put Spanish football to a test.
“We have seen that there is an end and we can get to the conclusion of this.

“So far we have had to deal with income down by £1.73bn but the clubs, especially the big ones, have been able to endure the crisis knowing how to reduce expenses.
    “Spanish football is solvent.”
Tebas, who had yet another blast at Manchester City – suggesting the Court of Arbitration for Sport needed to be investigated after lifting the club’s Euro ban – also suggested the caps, to come into immediate effect, could be raised for next term.
He added: “We can face next season with some optimism.
“In other countries, like France, there are problems with the payment of salaries while some clubs in the Premier League have asked for aid from the government.

“We have not had to do that and there will be no problems in the clubs.
“Next season, with fans back, the income will come and so the salary cap for next season, possibly, will be higher.”
Tebas, reopening old wounds, again accused both City and PSG of “evading” Uefa’s Financial Fair Play rules, despite the Prem club winning its long legal battle.
He said: “City received a significant ban and CAS lifted it.
“Uefa made an effort, it went to CAS and then nothing happened. So CAS needs to be reviewed and investigated to see what they’re actually doing.”

Isco’s Real Madrid hell hits new low as he fails to start against Getafe despite injury crisis with Zidane picking kids

ISCO’S Real Madrid hell has sunk to new depths after boss Zinedine Zidane overlooked the Spain midfielder in favour of using his kids.
Los Blancos are in the midst of an injury crisis but rather than use the 28-year-old with 38 international caps – Zidane has looked to blood some exciting youngsters.

The reigning LaLiga champs had looked like they would only be able to name ONE sub against Getafe on Tuesday with the likes of Sergio Ramos and Eden Hazard sidelined.
And former Tranmere Rovers player Marvin Park, 20, made his first start for Madrid in the 2-0 win.
While Isco had to settle for a place on the bench but the fact 19-year-old midfielder Sergio Arribas was called upon before him signals the rift between player and coach.
The result pulled Real back into second place as they look to keep pace with Diego Simeone’s table-topping Atletico Madrid – who are five points ahead with two games in hand.

Former Malaga star Isco was given 15 minutes at the end by Zidane who shut down talk there was anything sinister behind his lack of game time.
After the game, the Frenchman said: “Isco couldn’t start.
“He has only trained once with the team. That’s why I gave him 15 minutes. That’s all.”
Isco reportedly wants to quit the club after his relationship breakdown with Zidane.

He is said to have been humiliated by assistant boss David Bettoni – filling in for Covid-hit Zidane – choosing to sub on Arribas ahead of him against Levante on January 30.
Isco has been linked with a move to a number of the Premier League’s top six sides and was most recently rumoured to be heading to Arsenal before the Gunners opted to sign his team-mate Martin Odegaard on loan in January.
After watching his men win back to back games for the first time in 2021, Zidane reiterated his belief that they can still reclaim their league crown.
He added: “It will not change anything, we will do our thing. Our duty is to fight, to continue with our work, without paying attention to others.
“It’s a good win. They are two consecutive victories, we needed it. Also with many injuries. We needed it now.
“I don’t think there are Madridistas who think we’re going to lose the league. On the contrary, they think we can always change things and that is what we are going to try to do.
“With difficulties, it is clear, but we continue to do our thing. You have to keep fighting, little by little.”
