Next Premier League manager sacked odds: Steve Cooper and David Moyes favourites to be axed

STEVE COOPER is favourite to be the next Premier League manager relieved of his duties. That’s according to bookmakers Betfair, who’ve priced the Nottingham Forest boss at 11/10 to become the 14th managerial casualty of the 2022-23 season.

We’ve reached the business end of the campaign, but that clearly won’t stop clubs from considering their options.
Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers and Chelsea boss Graham Potter become the 12th and 13th top-flight departures of the season yesterday, and Betfair think Cooper is most likely to follow suit.
Nottingham Forest extended their winless run to seven matches over the weekend when drawing 1-1 with Wolves at the City Ground.
Daniel Podence scored a late equaliser to leave Forest in 15th position with 27 points from 28 matches, and a single point above the relegation zone.
Forest have now dropped 15 points from winning positions in home Premier League games this season, the most of any other side.
Next Premier League manager to leave his position (14th)Betfair odds

    Steve Cooper – 11/10
    David Moyes – 5/2
No Manager To Leave – 7/2
    Thomas Frank – 11/1
    Ruben Selles – 14/1
    Julen Lopetegui – 14/1

Think YOU know who will be the next Premier League manager to depart? Register a new account with Betfair and when you stake £10, your account will be credited with £30 in free bets to spend on anything you like!

Cooper’s side are now second-favourites to be relegated from the division at 10/11 with perhaps the most difficult fixtures remaining.
Forest still have to face Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in their final ten games and tomorrow’s trip to Leeds is a genuine six-pointer.
David Moyes is next in the betting at 5/2.
The Scotsman, 59, has spent much of the season as favourite to be the next manager axed but looks more assured after their 1-0 win over Southampton.
The Hammers have 27 points and a valuable game in hand over the majority of their relegation rivals.
No manager to leave is available at 7/2, ahead of outsiders Thomas Frank (11/1), Ruben Selles (14/1) and Julen Lopetegui (14/1).

He looked all smiles on board the jet with his agent Uriel Perez.
And it’s expected the midfielder will be officially revealed to Chelsea fans later today.
But supporters could not contain their excitement as the hour grew closer to Fernandez’s unveiling.

It now remains to be seen if Fernandez is deemed fit enough to make his Chelsea debut on Friday.
The Blues hosts local rivals Fulham hoping to avenge last month’s 2-1 defeat at Craven Cottage.
Chelsea fans will also be hoping to see Mykhailo Mudryk make his full debut, with Noni Madueke set to play too.
But there will be no sign of Jorginho, who has left Stamford Bridge for Premier League leaders Arsenal.
The Italian departs after four-and-a-half years at Chelsea, costing the Gunners £12m on a one-and-a-half year contract. More

Sabizter, 28, completed a shock deadline day move to Old Trafford after United discovered Christian Eriksen would be sidelined until May.
The versatile midfielder is likely to slot straight in the side next to Casemiro.
But Sabitzer can also operate further forward or on the wing.
It means Erik ten Hag will be tempted to thrust him straight into the action tonight against Nottingham Forest.

And the Dutchman is sure to heed warnings from Sabitzer’s agent about the Austrian’s expectations over game time.
Roger Wittmann helped to negotiate his client’s move to the Red Devils.
But he admits Sabitzer can be “unpleasant” if he’s left to rot on the bench.
The former RB Leipzig captain will be eager to express himself on the field as soon as possible.

Wittmann said: “He’s the most unpleasant person to be around when he’s not playing.
“He hates it when he loses. That’s the bottom line. Character-wise, the kid is a killer.
“That’s what players who always want to win look like.” More

Norwich chief Webber slammed by fans after revealing plan to spend the summer transfer window training for Mount Everest

NORWICH CITY fans are fuming after sporting director Stuart Webber revealed plans to train for climbing Mount Everest… during the crucial summer transfer window. The Canaries were officially relegated from the top flight on Saturday after losing 2-0 to Aston Villa.
Webber is training to climb Everest for his charity, The Summit Foundation, but some supporters aren’t keen on the timingCredit: PA
The Norfolk club are now preparing for a key summer of transfers as they plot an immediate return to the Premier League, but Webber, 38, will be up a mountain readying himself for the peak of Everest.
He will be completing two climbs, Cotopaxi and Chimborazo, during the window, as well as Mount Blanc once the Championship season starts.
In an interview with The Times last week, Webber described the details of his latest contract negotiations – based around his aspirations outside of football.
The Carrow Road chief explained: “I said there’s only one thing which matters to me in this negotiation, it’s not about money, titles or kudos.

Norwich fans reacted with anger and despair.
A regular at Carrow Road said: “Having just laid out over 500 quid to renew my season ticket what I want to hear from Webber is how we’re going to learn from the mistakes and some positive reaction to this season’s fiasco.
“Certainly don’t want to hear about his Everest expedition. Arrogant to say the least”.
One user added: “Woeful from Webber. No class. Fans and club deserve so much better.”
Whilst another claimed: “It’s clear the wheels on the bus have come off…. Tbh I think it’s just Delia holding a steering wheel left. Change is needed now #NCFC.”
    ANGRY CONFRONTATION
Videos have since emerged on Twitter of fans confronting Webber over the remarks.
But the 38-year-old admitted that he has other priorities alongside the football club.
He added: “My life isn’t to appease Norwich fans.
“If Norwich lose on the Saturday does it ruin my next couple of days? Yes, absolutely.
“That pain will never leave when you lose a game but is it the only thing in my life? No.”
Webber was one of most sought after directors at one time, linked with the Manchester United director of football job.
The Welshman is seen to be the brains behind Norwich’s surge in recent years and the man responsible for bringing the popular Daniel Farke to Norfolk.

Antonio Conte reckons Tottenham have only ONE PER CENT shot of finishing in top four as he gives up on Champions League

ANTONIO CONTE has given up on guiding Tottenham into the Premier League top four – bizarrely admitting his side have just a ONE PER CENT chance of qualifying for the Champions League. The Spurs boss takes his team to league leaders Manchester City claiming the North Londoners are now only on par with the likes of West Ham, Leicester, Wolves and even Brighton.

Serial winner Conte, who took over at Tottenham in November, said: “In the past I always say I have to feel only one per cent the possibility to win the league.
“For sure here the situation is strange because maybe I feel the one per cent possibility to have the ambition to finish fourth.
“The situation is different because the level of this league is very high and there is not a lot of space in this moment for other teams than the top teams.
“For this reason and because the level is high and you know every single team want to improve.
“Not only Tottenham but Arsenal, Leicester, West Ham, Aston Villa and Newcastle. Also teams like Brighton and Wolverhampton.
“They all want to improve and at the moment we have to fight with these teams and not the top teams.

    “We have to know this.”
After remaining unbeaten in his first nine Premier League matches at Tottenham, Conte has now lost his last three.
Spurs currently sit eighth in the table, seven points off fourth-placed Manchester United with three games in hand.
Conte told beIN SPORTS: “It’s important to not be scared about this situation now.
“We need to have the desire and the will to fight this situation and to try to rebuild again.
“But for me it’s a totally different situation compared to my past.” More

But United boss Wilder admitted it was difficult to plan because “conversations” about the future “are not happening.”
He said: “We always plan short, medium and long term.
“But that plan is determined by other people than me, by the way. I’ve not had those conversations.
“I know what direction I want to take the club in, where it should be, but it’s not happening.”

Asked directly if he will still be at Bramall Lane next season, he said: “I don’t know.
“What will be will be. I want to stay, definitely, if we stick to the plan.
“As always, the plan was to leave a legacy, to change things off the pitch that need changing, stick with the players we’ve invested in, and then add a couple and try to bounce back.”

Arsenal ace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has signed a new deal at the club
While Prince Abdullah may want to cash in on players in the wake of relegation, Wilder insists no player wants to leave.
He added: “I am confident I can keep the group together.
“I know the players better than anybody. They want to be here and they owe it to the club to be here. We gave them an opportunity.”

West Ham ‘make contact with Reims over striker Boulaye Dia’ but must pay £15m transfer fee to land Haller replacement

WEST HAM are reportedly interested in signing Remis striker Boulaye Dia – but must pay £15million if they are to land him.
The Premier League side are looking to replace flop Sebastien Haller, who was offloaded to Ajax earlier this month.

Boulaye Dia, left, has been prolific for Remis this season – scoring 12 goals in 17 league gamesCredit: AFP or licensors

According to Eurosport, the Hammers have made an enquiry and are expected to follow it up with an offer.
Dia is believed to be more suited to manager David Moyes’ style of play than Haller, who failed to live up his potential.
Haller was signed for a club-record fee of £45m in 2019 but managed just ten goals in 48 Premier League games.
The 26-year-old was sold to Ajax for just £20m, with West Ham willing to accept a huge loss on the flop.

To add insult to injury, Haller scored seven minutes into his full Ajax debut on Thursday in a 3-1 win against Twente.
Dia is the joint-top scorer in France’s Ligue 1 this season with 12 goals from 17 games.
The 24-year-old made his debut for Senegal in October.
The Hammers are also reportedly interested in Olivier Giroud and are favourites to sign the Chelsea forward, if he leaves.
