Donny van de Beek’s Man Utd team-mates ‘trying to help outcast midfielder seal transfer exit’

MANCHESTER United outcast Donny van de Beek is getting help from his team-mates to help him end his Old Trafford nightmare. The 24-year-old changed agents last week and was reportedly persuaded to do so by his Old Trafford colleagues.

According to the Daily Mail, van De Beek had discussions with players in the Manchester United dressing room after former representative Guido Albers failed to seal a transfer for him.
The Dutchman was on the verge of joining Everton in the summer.
He has now employed the services of agent Ali Durson whose clients include van de Beek’s Red Devils teammate Victor Lindelof – and Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
The report goes on to add van de Beek has been in discussions with Everton again over a January move.
And Wolves are also said to be keen on bringing the Dutchman to the West Midlands.
However new agent Durson could try and drum up interest elsewhere.

SunSport exclusively revealed that van de Beek was seeking assurances from Man Utd chiefs over his future after feeling exiled from the club.
He has played just SIX minutes of Premier League football so far this campaign.
And since arriving for £40million from Ajax in the summer of 2020 he has started just four Premier League games.
Last month van de Beek was spotted throwing his chewing gum in frustration after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opted against bringing him off the bench.
His lack of game time means he has lost his place in the Netherlands national team, and he is thought to be desperate for a move in order to revive his international career.
Barcelona have also been linked with a move for van de Beek that would see him link up with former Ajax team-mate de Jong.
Italian giants Juventus are also reportedly lining up a move for him if Adrian Rabiot joins Newcastle.
The midfielder is rumoured to have already held discussions with The Old Lady, which would see a reunion with another former Ajax colleague in Matthijis de Ligt.

The making of Man Utd target Antonio Conte, from choirboy to Red Devil, including match-fixing scandal and wig row

ANTONIO CONTE is being lined up for a return to our shores. The former Chelsea boss, 52, is the hot favourite to take over from beleaguered Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.

Famously, the Italian won the Premier League title with the Blues, before falling out with the Stamford Bridge hierarchy and getting the boot.
Last season, he restored Inter Milan’s name as the pride of Serie A, before leaving the club in a storm, after they were forced to sell off star talent in the wake of a financial crisis.
Fiery Conte has come a long way since growing up in Leece as an altar boy, and as a devout catholic has been known to carry around holy water, which he sprinkles onto the pitch.
It’s the divine intervention United might need if they are to regain some momentum in the title race.
    EARLY YEARS
The deeply religious coach, who also captained Juventus in his playing days, showed he was a leader from a very young age.
Growing up southern Italy, he took on a huge responsibility at Mass that endeared him to the priests.
Conte revealed: “When I helped at Mass the priest would decide who got to carry the big candles and I always wanted to be picked.
“When I was it made my day and I was so happy! I used to like being in charge and organising all the other altar boys.”

Conte showed leadership as a altar boy at Mass in his local church in Lecce
    PLAYING CAREER
Conte began a life in football with his hometown club, Lecce.
A tenacious and hard-working midfielder who kept things simple, he made his debut at the age of 16 – showing maturity beyond his years.
A fractured tibia in 1987 threatened to derail his career, but he returned to the pitch a year later and went on to make 99 appearances for the club.
In 1991, he secured a dream move to Juventus when Giovanni Trapattoni signed him.
They would form such a strong bond Conte would later refer to him as his second father.
The ball-winner became a servant to Juventus for 13 years, amassing 420 appearances for the club.
He won Serie A five times, while on the European stage he added the Champions League and Uefa Cup medals to his glittering trophy cabinet.
For many years he was Juve’s captain during their most historic moments.
Conte appeared 20 times for his country too, and was a member of both the 1994 World Cup and Euro 2000 squads that finished runners-up.

    NATURAL PROGRESSION
Given his nature, it was expected that Conte would make the step into management.
However, he had to cut his teeth at a lower level – first with Serie B’s Arezzo, who he couldn’t save from relegation.
Then, more successfully with Bari, who he did get out of a relegation fight. Remarkably, a season later, he would achieve the unthinkable and lead the club to promotion.
In 2009, he was snubbed for the vacant position at Juventus. Instead, he joined Atalanta but under pressure from their ultras tendered his resignation four months later with the club in 19th place in Serie A.
He returned with Siena in Serie B, again showing his nous to gain promotion to the top flight – doing so in his first season.
In 2011, Conte finally got the call to return to his spiritual home and was installed as Juventus boss.
Despite some doubt whether he had the experience, the club won three Serie A titles in a row under the tactician.
However, following disappointment on the European stage, Conte resigned from his post during preseason in 2014.
Many believed it was because of his lack of support in the transfer market. A belief he fuelled.
“Well, you cannot go to eat at a €100 restaurant with just €10 in your pocket, can you?” he responded about Juve’s plans for the coming season, which was seen as an attack at the club’s directors and said just days before he walked.

    CONTROVERSY
During his three-year tenure in charge of the Old Lady, Conte was hit with a scandal that dated back to his Siena days.
He was accused of failing to report attempted match-fixing by ex-Siena star Filippo Carobbio, who was connected with the betting debacle that tarnished the reputation of the Italian game in the 2011-12 season.
Carobbio said during a meeting before a match against Novara, Siena owner Massimo Mezzaroma indirectly sent a message to the players asking them to ensure the game finished in a draw.
Mezzaroma allegedly wanted to turn a large profit on a bet he had made. The match finished 2–2 and Carobbio testified Conte was present when the message was relayed to the players.
Carrobio also claimed the result of the final match of the season, in which Siena lost 1–0 to AlbinoLefee, was prearranged after Siena’s assistant manager asked he and another player “contact someone at AlbinoLeffe to reach an agreement over the return match”.
Further allegations were aimed at Conte in regards to a 5-0 win over Varese, a match Carrobio accused his coach of knowing he was asked to lose, but didn’t report it.
Conte denied all accusations through his lawyer, and took on their advice of taking a plea bargain, which would’ve seen him serve a three month ban and receive a fine.
But it was rejected by the Italian authorities and he was slapped with a 10-month ban, although Conte maintained his innocence.
Juventus appealed weeks later, and Conte’s touchline ban was shortened to four months.
Their players would later dedicate their Supercoppa Italiana win to their under fire manager.
In 2016, the preliminary hearing judge of the court of Cremona eventually acquitted Conte of all charges in regard to his alleged involvement in the match-fixing scandal.
Throughout the Scommessopoli investigations, Conte expressed his gratitude to his wife Elisabetta and daughter, Vittoria for their support.
Of them, he has said: “I have a great woman by my side, one who always tries to understand me. As for my daughter, she is the other woman in my life. She is beginning to understand that her dad gets nervous when he does not win [a match].”

    BLUE IS THE COLOUR
A month after leaving Juve, Conte was handed the reigns of the Italian national job, following Cesare Prandelli’s resignation.
It was only ever going to be a two-year deal, with Conte reluctant to commit further.
He suffered his first defeat after 10 games, 1-0 to Portugal in a friendly.
However, he managed to guide Italy comfortably to Euro 2016 qualification, and then out of the group stage at the competition, where he drew praise for his team’s defensive strength and team organisation.
But, after they fell to defeat to Germany in the quarter-final on penalties, he admitted his time was up and he was desperate for a “return to the cut and thrust of club football”.
Two months later, he would take Stamford Bridge hotseat after just 25 games coaching the Azzuri.

    LONDON CALLING
Roman Abramovich came calling in 2016, and Conte’s debut season at Chelsea couldn’t have been better.
A title win in his debut Premier League campaign, in which the West Londoners won an incredible 30 league wins from 38 games, was only slightly blighted by an FA Cup final loss to Arsenal.
Still, he was handed a new contract for a further two years.
His second season was disappointing, with the club finishing in fifth – out of the Champions League places.
They did win silverware, though, lifting the FA Cup by defeating Manchester United 1-0.
But things began to unravel when Conte fell out with Diego Costa, who he sent an infamous text telling the centre forward he wasn’t part of his plans.
Then, there were clashes with the hierarchy over transfers – with the Italian saying in an interview Chelsea had “lost momentum” after failing to sign players he wanted, including Romelu Lukaku and Virgil van Dijk.
Conte was sacked in 2018 and replaced by Maurizio Sarri, but received a staggering £26.6million payout in compensation for his team and legal fees.

    INTER REDEMPTION
Conte’s habit of winning transferred to Inter, but he had to wait a season for it to happen.
A promising first campaign saw i nerazzurri finish runners-up in both Serie A and the Europa League.
There was an epic square-up between Sevilla star Ever Banega and Conte during that European final, who taunted him about his hair transplant and shouted towards him on the touchline: “Let’s see if his wig is real.”
But the groundwork was in place for a title challenge the next year, as Conte’s masterplan began to come to fruition.
With the signing he wanted at Chelsea, Lukaku, leading his line Inter were champions for the first time in eleven years.
They also ended Juventus’s run of nine consecutive titles, storming to the championship with 91 points – some 12 clear of rivals AC Milan.
Conte left in a blaze of glory in the summer – with the club confirming his departure was by mutual consent.
Rumblings of lack of transfer support before he left were a constant, with rumours of unrest growing.

Inter were also stripped of star assets, including Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi with owners Suning Holdings Group having to balance the books after the coronavirus pandemic hit their finances.
With that in mind, wherever Conte goes, he will want assurances on the budget he will be given for his next challenge.
Surely choosing the richest club in the world as his next project is a no-brainer.

‘It’s a challenge he’d like’ – Zidane tipped to succeed at Man Utd by ex-team-mate and former Chelsea star Geremi

ZINEDINE Zidane is a candidate to take over from under-fire Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United. And Zizou’s former team-mate Geremi has predicted the Frenchman to succeed at Old Trafford were he to take charge.

Geremi had spells in the Premier League with Middlesbrough, Chelsea and Newcastle after spending time at Real MadridCredit: Reuters
SunSport exclusively revealed a leading agent has been instructed to contact some of the biggest names in the game, with Zidane shortlisted alongside Brendan Rodgers, Erik Ten Hag shortlisted and Antonio Conte.
And Geremi, speaking exclusively to Ladbrokes at its launch of the 5-A-Side Bet on Newcastle v Chelsea said on Zidane: “Could he become Manchester United’s manager? Based on his ability to surprise us already, I would say wait and see.
“At that level, with the performances that he demands, I don’t think there’s a team in world football that Zinedine couldn’t manage.
“To manage a big club, you need a person with a big personality. Someone like Zinedine, a former player at the top level, can speak to his players and relate to them. He can speak to them without fear.
“It would be so easy for younger players in a team to receive a message from someone of Zidane’s stature.
“I think he’d be a success at Manchester United. He has a great record and I think it’s a challenge he’d like.

“The only thing is that he’s the kind of person who’d want to take over a club at the beginning of a season.
“The Premier League is a new world for him; I don’t think he’d take that risk in the middle of the season.
“I think he’d wait until the end of the season and construct his own team in pre-season.”
Geremi played for Real Madrid between 1999 and 2003, winning La Liga and the Champions League twice – playing alongside Zidane for two years.
And Zizou has continued his success as a player since going into management in 2016.
The 49-year-old won THREE Champions League titles in charge of Los Blancos, as well as two La Liga titles.
He also won the UEFA Super Cup, Spanish Super Cup AND the Club World Cup twice.
But he left the Bernabeu at the end of last season to take a break from the game.
It means the Frenchman has no desire to move to Old Trafford and will not rush back into management any time soon, reports suggest.
Instead Antonio Conte is the bookies favourite to take the reigns at Manchester United.

Five Man Utd stars facing axe in January transfer window as season flops including Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek

MANCHESTER United are targeting a January overhaul with FIVE players facing being sold by the club. With uncertainty regarding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future the Ole Trafford chiefs could try and free up funds to provide any new boss with a transfer armoury.

Van de Beek once again failed to featureCredit: Getty
SunSport exclusively revealed a leading agent has been instructed to contact some of the biggest names in the game, with Antonio Conte, Brendan Rodgers, Zinedine Zidane and Erik Ten Hag all shortlisted.
Italian Conte is the bookies favourite and would likely want to make a number of transfers to kickstart his reign.
That would mean moving some players on in January to prepare for a squad rebuild.
    Paul Pogba
Pogba is out of contract at the end of the season and is persistently linked with a move away from the club.
The 28-year-old furiously snubbed Solskjaer after being left out of Manchester United’s line-up for their 5-0 drubbing by Liverpool.
And SunSport exclusively revealed the Frenchman has put all contract talks on hold.

    Donny van de Beek
Dutchman Van de Beek has played just SIX minutes of Premier League action so far this season.
The 24-year-old has recently changed agents in a reported attempt to seal a move away from the club in January.
Serie A giants Juventus are the bookies favourite to sign Van de Beek, with Newcastle and Everton also linked.
    Jesse Lingard
Lingard enjoyed a highly successful loan spell at West Ham in the second half of last season.
It led to belief among some fans that he could be back in the first team mix at Old Trafford this season.
But the 28-year-old has found minutes hard to come by and is linked with a New Year switch to mega-rich Newcastle.
Lingard was also an unused sub in the defeat to LiverpoolCredit: Getty
    Anthony Martial
Frenchman Martial has come under fire for his performances this season.
The 25-year-old has scored just once is seven outings and has been slammed as ‘lightweight’ by pundits.
Reports suggest United will accept bids of £40m for him in January after six-and-a-half years at the club

    Dean Henderson
Finally back-up goalkeeper Henderson could be deemed surplus to requirements by Old Trafford chiefs.
The 24-year-old was due to be given the goalkeeper’s shirt this season ahead of David De Gea.
But Henderson has been suffering from long Covid and unable to even make the bench on some occasions this season.
The player himself is keen on a loan move in an attempt to revive his career.

How Man Utd could line-up under Antonio Conte including snatching Marcos Alonso from Chelsea and Barella from Inter

ANTONIO Conte is the bookies favourite to replace under pressure Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United. And SunSport has explored how the Red Devils could line-up if the 52-year-old former Chelsea boss is appointed at Old Trafford.
How United could line-up under Conte
SunSport exclusively revealed a leading agent has been instructed to contact some of the biggest names in the game, with Brendan Rodgers, Zinedine Zidane and Erik Ten Hag shortlisted – alongside Conte.
Italian Conte is famed for his three-at-the-back formation, and would likely employ either a 3-5-2 or a 3-4-3.
He led Inter to the Serie A title last season under a 3-5-2, and could bring some of the players he coached at San Siro to Old Trafford.
United are reeling after being thumped 5-0 by Liverpool at the weekend meaning reinforcements in January could be on the cards.
And with midfield pair Fred and Scott McTominay the subject of criticism, it could be the middle of the park that Conte overhauls first.
Nicolo Barella is one of the brightest stars in Italian football and has been linked with a move to Old Trafford regardless of who is in charge.

FREE BETS: GET OVER £2,000 IN NEW CUSTOMER DEALS
Barella, 24, played a starring role in Inter’s first Serie A triumph sine 2010 last campaign, and also helped Italy to Euro 2020 glory.
Inter teammate Marcelo Brozovic could complete the midfield rebuild, with the 28-year-old Croatian international out of contract at San Siro at the end of the season.
It means United could opt to sign him for a cut price deal in January, or snap him up on a free in the summer.
Conte could also sensationally reunite with Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso.
Alonso is enjoying a new lease of life at Stamford Bridge, helping the Blues to the top of the Premier League.
He also fits Conte’s wing-back system and the 26-year-old was a key feature of Conte’s team that won the title in 2017.
Conte he could also bring Matteo Darmian back to Old Trafford – another player who fits his wing-back system.
The 31-year-old has experience playing both for United and under Conte and could be a shrewd addition.

Three-at-the-back would mean potentially signing another centre-back – and highly rated Slovakian centre-back Milan Skriniar could be the man for the job.
The 26-year-old Inter defender is out of contract in 2023, meaning the Nerazzuri face losing him on a free transfer if he is not sold next summer.
Finally Conte’s system includes two strikers.
Lautaro Martinez could be the man to partner Cristiano Ronaldo up front in a deadly strike force.
The 23-year-old Argentinian was linked with a £60million move away from Inter in the summer.
Earlier this month it was reported he would sign a new contract at Inter ‘within days’ but no announcement has been made, meaning talks could have stalled.
An alternative United XI under Conte
Alternatively United could line-up in a 3-4-3 formation under Conte and employ wingers.
Both Ousmane Dembele and Federico Chiesa have been linked with the club, and would form a formidable front three either side of Ronaldo.
The Red Devils could also turn their attention back to Kieran Trippier, who was heavily linked with a move in the summer.
Youri Tielemans is also at the centre of ongoing speculation.
The 24-year-old is out of contract in 2023 and is believed to have turned down a new contract at the King Power, putting clubs on red alert.

Solskjaer claims Man Utd have not done enough to have swagger of Liverpool and Man City and are still playing catch up

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes his side have not done enough to have the swagger of Liverpool and Manchester City.He believes United’s two fiercest rivals have done enough in recent years to walk on to pitches believing their quality will see them through.

Pep Guardiola’s Man City are also still clearly ahead of United, Old Trafford manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitsCredit: EPA
That is not the case for the Red Devils, who he says are still having to improve and play catch up.
He said: “Every game in this league is so important, so difficult, and we have absolutely no right to go on the pitch against any team in the Premier League thinking we can give less than our best and win the game.
“We have not won the league in the last eight years. You can understand City or Liverpool walking onto the pitch and think quality itself is enough.
“We have a team of players and who have to keep on developing and keep on improving.”
Ahead of Sunday’s home clash with Jurgen Klopp’s second-placed side, Solskjaer admitted: “Liverpool are one of the teams we are trying to catch up on.
“We know we still have to improve to get up to the level of their last four years.
“They’re one of the teams we’re chasing. What they’ve done the last four years is what we’re striving towards and go past them.

“They had a bad spell with injuries last year but are now back to their best.
“They’re on a great run of form and have some individual skills that you almost cannot defend against.
“As a team, we have to be compact, aggressive and give very single drop of nous, knowledge, strong mindset, physical energy.
“It takes everything to get results against the best teams in the world and Liverpool are one of them.
“When you play against Liverpool, a performance needs to consist of 90 plus minutes of attacking and defending.”
While United came back from 2-0 down to beat an injury ravaged Atalanta 3-2 in midweek, the Norwegian knows they cannot afford to give a Liverpool side in this sort of form any sort of head start at Old Trafford this weekend.
Every time you play for Manchester United you play for three points, to be seven behind is a big distance.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
He said: “You can’t give them chances, we gave Atalanta two and they scored two.
“I don’t agree when people say we were really bad against Atalanta, they were clinical. So will Liverpool be.
“We can’t give them an inch or a centimetre in our box.”
Sunday’s game is so big for plenty of reasons.
Victory for United will move them to within a point of Liverpool, defeat and they will be seven points behind and seemingly out of the tittle race with nearly a quarter of the season gone.
Solskjaer said: “Every time you play for Manchester United you play for three points, to be seven behind is going to be a big distance, one point between you is close.

Van de Beek has ‘huge chance’ to QUIT Man Utd in January after nightmare transfer to Old Trafford

DONNY VAN DE BEEK has a ‘huge chance’ of leaving Manchester United in January as Everton and Newcastle hover. The £39million Holland midfielder has never been close to a regular role at Old Trafford since departing his kingpin status at Ajax in August last year.
Former Ajax kingpin Donny van de Beek has had just a bit-part role with Man Utd and could be on the move as early as JanuaryCredit: Getty
And in contrast transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims VDB has never been CLOSER to moving on.
Romano ruled out links between the 24-year-old and his former club Ajax.
And he also dismissed ‘rumours’ of Van de Beek earning a fresh start with United in January as ‘fake’.
Instead he reckons there is a ‘huge chance’ the 19-cap playmaker will be sold or loaned out in the next transfer window.
Newly-rich Newcastle have been strongly tipped to bid for VDB and Juventus playmaker Adrien Rabiot.
Finding a successor to sacked boss Steve Bruce is the priority for the Toon’s new chiefs following the club’s £305milion takeover.
But major investment in their playing squad seems certain in January, especially as Newcastle sit second bottom.

Meanwhile, Everton director of football Marcel Brands revealed the Toffees almost landed VDB on loan over the summer.
Brands told Dutch broadcaster NOS’s Along the Line sports programme: “We had him on our list.
“At the beginning of the transfer window, we inquired at United, then it was impossible.
“At the end of the window, I received a call from Guido Albers, his agent, that he might be loaned out after all. But at the last minute it was cancelled – stopped again.
“It is of course a pity for Donny [that he is not playing regularly].
“He is a very good player, no doubt about it. Such a boy wants to play and wants to return to the Dutch national team.”

However, El Nacional claim that the France star is telling his agent to hold talks with the Red Devils, even though Real Madrid are competing for his signature.
The story says that Kounde does not trust Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti to give him the game time he craves, so he would favour a move to Old Trafford.
United are said to be ‘crazy’ about the opportunity to sign Kounde, but Sevilla want as much as £75million for the centre back.
Kounde recently starred for France as they won the Nations League by beating Spain.
While he has appeared eight times for Sevilla this season and was an integral part of their Europa League winning side in 2020.

“I am focused on the team. The most important performance is on the pitch.
“The team needs me and I need the team too to give my best and that’s what I’m trying to do.
