      Who is Andre Gray?

      Andre Gray was born in Wolverhampton in 1991 and started his career at the Wolves academy in 2004.
      He made his debut for Shrewsbury Town in 2009, making four appearances before joining non-league Hinckley United a year later.
      After his successful spell at Hinckley, his career began to follow the trajectory of Leicester star Jamie Vardy.
      Gray progressed through the leagues, winning promotion from the Conference with Luton, moving to Championship side Brentford and finally achieving promotion to the Premier League with Burnley.

      And after refusing to sign a new deal with the Clarets he joined Watford for £18.5m, making his debut in a 3-3 draw against Liverpool.
      In 2012, when he was playing for Hinckley, Gray tweeted: “Is it me or are there gays everywhere? #Burn #Die #MakesMeSick”
      The striker subsequently made a passionate apology after the tweet was discovered four years later, and said he is now a “different person”.

      But the FA opted to hand him a four-match ban at a time where he was playing arguably the best football of his career, having just scored in Burnley’s 2-0 win over Liverpool.

      A Burnley statement read: “We believe this charge, regarding historical social media posts, should now also serve as a warning to all professional footballers, and participants in the wider sporting field.”

      Andre currently plays for Watford F.C.
      In the past he’s been a part of Shrewsbury Town, A.F.C. Telford United, Hinckley United, Luton Town, Brentford and Burnley.
      His current position is Striker.

      Andre Gray is believed to have become involved with the Little Mix singer during 2016.
      Pinnock has posted a number of snaps supporting Gray, including one in the shirt of his former club Burnley.
      The pair got engaged on May 29, 2020, which was the couple’s fourth anniversary.

      He has made 35 appearances at international level for England.
      Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Liverpool from Arsenal in August 2017 for £35million.
      In addition to winning the Premier League with Liverpool, he has also won the FA Cup with Arsenal on three occasions – in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

      Perrie is one fourth of Little Mix alongside Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson.
      They were put together on The X Factor in 2011.

      But many Hollywood actors, pop stars and big names have chosen to divert their wealth into football teams for a variety of reasons.
      Little Mix’s Jade Thirwall is the latest superstar to cough up after she became a shareholder in her local non-league side South Shields FC.

      One Direction pop sensation Louis Tomlinson joined boyhood side Doncaster Rovers as a PLAYER after impressing in a charity game.

      He appeared off the bench for the reserve side in 2014 – living out a childhood dream.
      The 1D singer – who had run a pub team called Three Horseshoes while growing up in the area – made a bid to takeover the club with former chairman John Ryan in the same year.
      But the deal collapsed despite the pair exchanging contracts on the deal after the Football League said they were not presented with a satisfactory business plan.

      The Oscar winner has drafted in a bunch of her A-lister pals Eva Longoria, Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Garner, Uzo Aduba and America Ferrera as owners.
      The side are due to kick off in the NWSL in 2022.

      Basketball colossus LeBron James became a part owner of Liverpool in 2011.
      The La Lakers icon received a 2 per cent stake in the Reds when his marketing firm signed off on a joint venture with Anfield owners Fenway Sports Partners.
      James’ initial investment of around £5million was valued at over £24m by Bloomberg in 2019.
      Baller James was delighted when Liverpool switched kit provider to Nike in August as he is sponsored by the Oregon-based sports giants and can now don the colours of the Premier League champs.

      American actor Matthew McConaughey is part owner of future MLS team Austin FC.
      He revealed he was on the search for players during a visit to Chelsea in 2019 to watch compatriot Christian Pulisic play.
      Austin FC will begin their journey in the MLS in 2021 with McConaughey – who won an Oscar for his role in Dallas Buyers Club – as one of the investors in the burgeoning outfit.

      ELTON JOHN – WATFORD

      Singing legend Sir Elton John became Watford’s chairman and director in 1976 and appointed Graham Taylor as manager.
      He bankrolled the club as they jumped three leagues into what then was the First Division.
      Sir Elton sold to Jack Petchey in 1987 but remained president before buying his beloved Hornets back in 1997 and returning as chairman.
      The lifelong fan stepped down in 2002 when the club needed a full-time chair but again continued as president.
      DIPLO – PHOENIX RISING FC

      Superstar DJ Diplo led a group that purchased a minority stake in Phoenix Rising FC.
      The music star was one of the side’s initial investors in 2014 – when they were known as Arizona United.
      The club play in the USL Championship – the second tier of the US system.
      HUGH JACKMAN – NORWICH

      It doesn’t always work out for celebs, with X-Men star Hugh Jackman revealing he regretted not investing in Norwich.
      The Australian actor revealed in 2011 that his mother lives in Norfolk and he is a self-proclaimed Canaries fan.
      He told BBC Radio 5 Live: “Sometimes I make big mistakes.
      “I got a letter about a year ago saying, ‘Being such a huge Norwich City fan would I like to be a celebrity investor?’, like a small part-owner.
      “I said, ‘I think that’s a little stretched, I’ve been to Carrow Road once, my mum took me’, so I decided not to invest.”
      Jackman is one of a number of celebrity canaries alongside joint majority shareholder and chef Delia Smith, actor and writer Stephen Fry and BT Sport’s Jake Humphrey.

      LITTLE MIX star Jade Thirwall has become a shareholder in her hometown side South Shields.
      The pop star, 27, became honorary president of South Shields FC in August.

      And she is one of 750 new shareholders as the club moves towards fan ownership.
      Supporters have so far purchased £280,000 worth of shares in the side, exceeding the initial £250,000 target for the first round of investment.
      The team contest the Northern Premier League Premier Division in the seventh tier of the football pyramid.
      All funds will be reinvested in the club – which is on the outskirts of Newcastle – and the money will help keep the side sustainable and aid their progress through the leagues.

      Chairman Geoff Thompson was delighted with Jade – who is reportedly worth over £7million – and her passion for her local side.
      He said: “We are thrilled with the response we’ve had to our investment round. To hit our initial target so early was something which filled us with so much pride and optimism for the future.
      “It’s hugely exciting that more than 750 people have shown their support to us in this way and for Jade to be one of them is just another example to show how committed such a global superstar is to not just the club, but her hometown.
      “We will continue to welcome new shareholders until the campaign ends on November 28 so any supporter or potential investor who is interested still has some time yet.

      “I’d like to say a huge thanks to everyone who has invested so far.”

      Shares start at £12.50 and anyone who buys two or more receives a personalised certificate.
      Bumper investors are being gifted items such as shirts, scarves, hospitality tickets or even a place on the board of directors.
      Upon her appointment as honorary president in the summer, Jade said: “I’m so grateful to be asked to be the Honorary President of South Shields Football Club.
      “I’m incredibly proud to come from South Shields and one thing I am most proud of about my hometown is the sense of community and how we love to support each other and see each other do well in all aspects of life, which is something the football club very much embodies. 
      “I hope through my role I can raise awareness and increase the club’s profile, encouraging others to do the same and support our incredible team.
      “I’m looking forward to also being involved with any future projects the club will embark on that coincide with what I am passionate about.”
