    Bill Kenwright dead at 78: Everton FC chairman and Corrie star passes away after liver cancer battle

    EVERTON chairman Bill Kenwright has died aged 78 – months after having surgery to remove a cancerous tumour.The ex-Corrie star went under the knife in August this year when the growth was found in his liver.

    Kenwright was forced to stay in intensive care for longer due to complications in the procedure.
    But he was told he was allowed to continue his treatment at home and was released from hospital earlier this month.
    Tragically his death was announced by Everton this evening.
    The club said: “Everton Football Club is in mourning following the death of Chairman Bill Kenwright CBE, who passed away peacefully last night aged 78, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
    “Everton’s longest serving chairman for more than a century, Bill Kenwright led the Club through a period of unprecedented change in English football.
    “A lifelong Evertonian, he became a board member on October 23, 1989, and then on Boxing Day 1999 his True Blue Holdings consortium acquired the Club. Initially vice-chairman, he succeeded his close friend Sir Philip Carter as Chair in 2004.
    “In his 19 seasons as Chairman, the Club secured 12 top eight finishes, including a top four finish in 2005, a run to the 2009 FA Cup final and European qualification on 6 separate occasions.
    “The club has lost a chairman, a leader, a friend, and an inspiration. The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Everton are with his partner Jenny Seagrove, his daughter Lucy Kenwright, grandchildren and everybody who knew and loved him.”

    Everton previously told how Kenwright had been carrying out his club duties still even while recuperating from his op.
    He has been chairman of the Toffees since 2004 after first joining the board in 1989.
    Kenwright was also one of the UK’s most successful theatre producers.
    His most famous productions include in West End hit Blood Brothers and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
    Kenwright was also a judge on the 2007 BBC series Any Dream Will Do.
    The former actor, who had a role in Coronation Street in 1968, was married to theatre star Jenny Seagrove.
    He was previously married to actress Anouska Hempel from 1978 to 1980 and then went on to date Virginia Stride, who he shares a daughter and two grandchildren with.

    Laughing on their Therapy Crouch podcast, the married couple were talking about the Barbie movie when Crouchy, 42, quipped: “I can be your Ken.”
    And Abbey, 37, retorted: “Do you remember Ken Barlow perved on me?
    “It’s my claim to fame.”
    Peter added: “Ken Barlow checked Ab out in a Waitrose.

    British coach and ex-Corrie star BANNED for three years after admitting to fat-shaming and mocking disabled people

    A BRITISH Athletics coach has been banned for three years after admitting to misconduct charges including fat-shaming and mocking disabled people.Fuzz Caan, who has appeared in Coronation Street, was originally suspended by UK Athletics in June 2021.

    It came after the organisation received a letter of complaint “signed by several individuals in the high jump community”.
    The decision meant he was unable to coach his athletes – including Morgan Lake and Emily Borthwick – at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
    An investigation was then carried out by UK Athletics and 12 charges were subsequently levelled at Caan.
    They included claims he “repeatedly swore and shouted” at an athlete “for a period of several minutes”.

    He was also said to have labelled an athlete a “f***ing idiot”, a para-athlete “fat and slow”, and a doctor a “f***wit”.
    Another startling allegation was that he “made fun of disabled people by doing an impression where he walked with a limp, held his arm bent and made noises whilst sticking his tongue out”.
    Caan, who helped Robbie Grabarz win a silver medal at the 2012 London Games, was also accused of calling his athletes by highly inappropriate names.
    They included “bad foot Gay” and “limp foot Christie”.

    Caan, who started working as a consultant at the Saudi Olympic Training Centre last year, was due to appear at a UK Athletics hearing into the charges this week.
    But a decision has now been reached without a hearing due to his admission of guilt.
    UK Athletics confirmed Caan’s coaching license will be suspended for three years – a period backdated from June 2021. More

    Who is Scott Sinclair and which football teams has he played for?
    Scott Sinclair, 29, was born in Bath.
    The first team he played for was Bath Arsenal and at the age of nine he joined Bristol Rovers.
    He has also played for England youth teams and represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics in London.
    In 2005, he moved to Chelsea at the age of just 16, and went on to make five appearances for the club.
    During his time at Stamford Bridge he also made six loan spells – at Plymouth, QPR, Charlton, Crystal Palace, Birmingham and Wigan.
    Sinclair signed for Swansea in 2010 where he helped his current manager at Celtic, Brendan Rodgers, lead the Welsh side to promotion.
    His performances for the Swans in their first season in the Premier League earned him a move to Man City, where he would go on to make 13 appearances.
    He was also loaned out to West Brom and Aston Villa with the Villans signing him permanently in 2015.
    Sinclair then joined Celtic in 2016 where he enjoyed lots of success, winning numerous Scottish Premiership titles in the process.
    But now he’s playing for boyhood club Bristol Rovers, who he joined in the summer from Preston.
