Many Blues took to social media to voice their opinions with one writing: “Time to save this club.”

Cole Palmer’s £40m arrival is one example where Chelsea have hit the jackpot during their spending spree.

Who could be Chelsea’s next manager after Pochettino?

While stars like Romeo Lavia and Christopher Nkunku, who cost a combined £106m, have struggled to get on the pitch with injury problems.

The Stamford Bridge outfit look set for a mass exodus this summer as they try and re-balance the books ahead of more spending with a keen eye on staying on the right side of the Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

And even Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has explained how the club will need to re-jig at the end of the season.

Speaking on the process of improving his side, he said: “It is a normal process that has happened.

“We need to accept, working and trying to fix this type of problem.

“Always when the end of the season arrives, we need to analyse the squad and what we are missing to try to add people with the capacity to provide what we are seeing today, to improve in the next seasons.”
