WEST HAM plan to spend big on a centre-half — and could cash in on Nayef Aguerd.

Boss David Moyes’ spies have put a quick and tough defender on their summer wanted list.

Moroccan international Aguerd, 27, might be sold abroad, where he has admirers, and a less frantic and physical level may suit him more.

The defender has made 19 Premier League appearances so far this season.

But some fans have deemed him far too weak in recent months.

Since Aguerd returned to the squad from the Africa Cup of Nations, West Ham have conceded 11 goals in three games.

Club officials are now willing to let him leave at the end of the campaign.

Aguerd attracted interest from Liverpool and Manchester City last summer, but both clubs are not expected to bid for him.

However, City could look to move for West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta.

Pep Guardiola may target the Brazilian if Bernardo Silva leaves.
