After the match, Fenerbahce boss Ismail Kartal said: “Why do these events happen when we are victorious here? I don’t understand these.

“After all, why are we in such conflict with Trabzonspor when there is nothing between the presidents and managers of our two clubs? I don’t understand why we are confronting each other so much?”

He continued: “There is an attack here against us out of greed! We were officially attacked by the stands in the second half today!

“It’s the first time in my life that I’ve experienced something like this, after so much of my football and coaching career.

“In conclusion, I still wish success to the Trabzonspor team. I congratulate my players. I congratulate my players for the 3 points we got in such an environment, such an atmosphere, under very difficult conditions. Let it be a gift to our community.”
