Richards, 35, has worked with several pundits on BBC’s Match of the Day, Sky Sports while covering the Premier League and on CBS Sports as part of the Champions League team.

He has shared the studio with the likes of Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Graeme Souness, Alan Shearer, Danny Murphy, Ian Wright and Thierry Henry.

But Richards is convinced that Jamie Carragher is better than them all.

While discussing CBS Sports’ popular banter-filled style of Champions League coverage, he told The Athletic: “We have got Carragher, the No1 pundit in England.”
