A defender like his old man, Chris plays for Axminster Town in the South West Peninsula League.

Last night, the 39-year-old helped Devon-based Axminster to a 2-1 victory over Dorset side Bridport.

Following his goalscoring performance, McGrath was awarded man of the match.

Axminster subsequently posted a snap of their veteran defender being given his award by club president Les Bounds.

Chris began his career at Liverpool, before stints at Chorley and Leigh RMI.

Amazingly at Taunton, Chris played alongside his step-son Callum in 2017.

During a match against Weston-super-Mare he lined up in an unfamiliar midfield role, with Callum being deployed on the right wing.

Following the incredible experience, Chris said: “It’s not something that many people get to do, but I was fortunate enough to play with my dad and for history to repeat itself tonight is great.

“Hopefully, if I can keep playing for a couple more years, it might happen again.”

Paul played 178 times for Man Utd between 1982 and 1989, helping the Red Devils to FA Cup success.
