Manager Jonathan Morgan initially stepped away as first team manager following her death.

Sheffield United subsequently launched a probe into her death following complaints raised by Maddy’s family regarding her treatment.

But the club’s nine-week inquiry, which considered allegations against Morgan, found no wrongdoing and he was later cleared to return.

However, The Blades today confirmed he has now left the club.

In a statement, the club said “new information has come to light within the last few days with regards to Mr Morgan’s conduct” that has left his position “no longer tenable”.

Meanwhile, he has also been dropped by his agency – for having a “relationship” with a player.

A spokesperson for Tongue Tied Management said: “In the last 24hrs we have learnt new information regarding Jonathan Morgan and a relationship with a player under his charge. We will no longer be working with him in any capacity and the termination of our relationship is with immediate effect.

“The termination of this contract is a critical measure in preserving the integrity of our agency.

It comes a week after the FA confirmed it has also launched its own probe into the treatment of Cusack, who was the club’s longest serving player.

The statement added: “Sheffield United can confirm that Head Coach of Sheffield United Women’s team, Jonathan Morgan, has departed the Club.

“Due to new information that has come to light within the last few days with regards to Mr Morgan’s conduct before arriving at Bramall Lane, the Club has reached the conclusion that Mr Morgan’s position is no longer tenable and his employment with the Club has been terminated.

“Luke Turner has agreed to take the role of interim Head Coach for the foreseeable future, including Sunday’s Women’s Championship fixture at Durham Women.”

Maddy’s family are understood to have met with the FA last week and handed over more information.

Morgan has reportedly denied treating Maddy unfavourably.
