  • Diallo forgot he was booked

Man Utd match-winner Amad Diallo has confessed that he forgot he was booked, after he was sent off for taking off his jersey when scoring his side’s decisive goal against Liverpool.

He told ITV: “What a game. Today I think we deserved this win. One of the best games of the season so I’m very happy. It was an important moment, I think it was the best goal of my career.

“I don’t believe, but this is football so you need to believe every moment. When he (Garnacho) gave me the ball I wanted to give it to him again but I shot.

“I forgot the first yellow so I’m really disappointed to get the red card but the most important for me was to get the win.

“Everyone came to me and said I deserved it. The most important [thing] for me today was the win.”

  • Klopp rues missed chances

Jurgen Klopp was gutted Liverpool failed to kill off Man Utd, when they were leading 2-1.

“We were nearly there in normal time and nearly there in extra-time and then we lose the game, that’s alright,” he said. “I cannot ask for much more.

“We have had a much more intense season so far, everybody knows that, you just have to count the games. Today was hard, very hard. The longer the game goes, the decision-making doesn’t get any better.

“Congratulations to United, going to the semi-final. We have a game less, or have two games less, and we [will] try to use that in the next few weeks.”

  • Ten Hag masterclass

Fans are convinced that Erik ten Hag “means business” after they spotted four tactical masterclasses in the win over Liverpool.

    Read all about them here.

  • Pep looking forward to semis

Pep Guardiola was buzzing after Man City saw off Newcastle to get to the FA Cup semi-final.

After the game, Pep said: “It sounds really good. I know we play to win the finals, but to win it, you have to win the earlier rounds. We won four Carabao Cup finals in a row and now we’re in six FA Cup semi-finals in a row.

“To run and play the way they did is incredible, congratulations to the team, no one has done that before.

“We played really well, we were so sfae with the ball. Mateo, Rodri and Bernardo kept the ball so well. The game was really good.

“You see us when we come back every three days, three days, three days, three days, we need Kevin, Jack and Erling to come back in the best possible conditions.”

    Next up is Chelsea.

  • Draw ‘fixed’

Fans blasted the FA Cup draw as the “most fixed ever” after an “unprofessional” new format.

Manchester United landed a dream semi-final tie against Championship side Coventry, just minutes after an incredible 4-3 comeback win over Liverpool.

The other draw saw holders Manchester City paired with Chelsea, who beat Leicester 3-2 earlier today.

But some supporters were not happy with how the draw was carried out.

Taking place live on ITV, Ian Wright drew balls in front of Roy Keane and Graeme Souness in the studio.

They remained seated as Wright rummaged around in the famous bag before showing the numbers to the camera.

  • Keane’s reaction

Roy Keane praised Man Utd’s mentality, while comparing the game to their 0-0 draw earlier in the season.

“Man United were criticised a couple of months ago for going to Anfield to get nil all draw for parking the bus. They didn’t park the bus today,” Keane said on ITV.

“It’s huge. I think trying to get momentum into the season. If they’d lost today especially the second half the way the game was going to look like you’re gonna lose the game.

“We keep talking about belief, belief in terms of winning big football matches you’re at Man United to win big football matches.

“They’ve lost far too many this year. They’ve not turned up again in the big games that turned up today hopefully that will give the belief to the players and we look forward to the semi final draw.”

  • Ten Hag’s reaction

Erik ten Hag’s thoughts on the win.

The first 30 minutes was the best of our whole season, we were acting as a team but then we got gaps between the lines and you can’t allow this against one of the best teams in Europe. They outplayed us.

“Then we made changes, we took risks and the players were wonderful. The attitude was great, a strong belief to win this game.

“Rashford is resilient, he keeps going, normally he finishes those moments but he kept going for another chance. That inspired the other players.

“We have a team that is for the future. Coming up are players who are developing very well like (Amad) Diallo, (Alejandro) Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo.”

  • Ten Hag ‘happy’ for Diallo

Manager Erik ten Hag beamed about Amad Diallo’s winner, insisting his performances in training meant he deserved a chance.

“I’m so happy for him,” Ten Hag said.

“He is one of the players with a huge setback this season, a bad injury, returning from it, but returning to a team where there is a lot of competition for his position.

“He does not always get the time to play he deserves by his training performances but then he is coming on, then he shows his contribution, scoring a goal. But we know he can do it, we know he has the key moments where he can decide a game.

“I am very pleased he got the winner. But we had another sub, Antony, who scores an equaliser, he is also in a problematic situation but you see he is fighting as well, he wants to contribute as well.

“I’m very happy with the bench today.”

  • Coventry eagerly await United

  • Fernandes on win

“We said that our goal for the rest of the season is getting into the top four and winning the FA Cup.

“We want to get into the final, we know it’s going to be tough, but we’ll do everything to get there.”

Meanwhile, Roy Keane says United “found a way to win” while Liverpool “found a way to lose”.

    Bruno FernandesITV

  • Brilliant Wrighty

Ian Wright left fans in hysterics as he conducted the FA Cup semi-final draw.

The former Arsenal and England striker was tasked with drawing the four remaining teams for next month’s Wembley clashes.

Wright drew the balls live on ITV after Manchester United beat Liverpool to complete the semi-final line-up.

The Red Devils’ dramatic extra-time victory sees them join Chelsea, Coventry and Manchester City.

As the draw began, Wright dramatically revealed each ball from the bag before throwing it away as he took out the final ball.

Fans were left amazed by his performance, with some even comparing it to Rod Stewart’s infamous 2017 Scottish Cup draw.

  • Famous face

Watching Man Utd win victoriously was heavyweight champ Tyson Fury.

The big man even got a picture with another legend.

Fury sidled up to Sir Alex Ferguson for a snap.

  • Match ratings

Manager Erik ten Hag spoke of their opponents, after disposing of Liverpool.

“We have to play our best,” he told ITV.

“Very good team and mentality. We want to go to our final so we have to play at our best.”

  • The magic moment

This is the moment Amad Diallo celebrated his last-minute extra-time winner against Liverpool.

However, just seconds later he was shown for his second booking.

He really shouldn’t have whipped his top off, but you can’t blame the lad.

  • It’s a return for Mark Robins

Mark Robins was once an FA Cup hero for Man Utd.

He scored the winner in a semi-final replay against Oldham, which sent the Red Devils on their way to a final – and Sir Alex Ferguson’s first piece of silverware.
