Distraught Man Utd fans say ‘we’re done before next season even starts’ after finding out summer transfer budget

MANCHESTER UNITED are set to have a net transfer budget of £100million this summer, according to reports.

The Red Devils will enter their first off season since Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos bought a 27.7 per cent stake in the club.

United have already begun a huge restructuring that has seen John Murtough and Richard Arnold depart.

The shake up at Old Trafford is also set to reach the playing staff, with incoming staff members Omar Berrada, Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox having a big job on their hands to reshape the team.

Due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, the Red Devils will not be able to spend recklessly.

According to ESPN, they will possess a budget of around £100m to fork out on fresh talent.

Any further funds will have to be raised from player sales.

Seeing the news, many United fans were left disappointed.

One pessimistically wrote on social media: “Lol. Then they’re as good as done even before next season started.”

While a second simply commented “£100m” followed by a series of crying emojis.

While another added: “Club fell off so badly, only 100M.”

Pundits verdict on Ten Hag’s future

Where do the pundits stand on Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United future

Jamie Carragher – Sacked

“I don’t see how Erik ten Hag stays. It’s just performance after performance.”

Gary Neville – Stay if he wins the FA Cup

“To sack a manager who’s won two trophies in his first two seasons at the club I think would be extreme.”

Louis Saha – On the fence

“I don’t see it as clearly but they need changes from the players but they need changes from him as well.”

Alan Shearer – Sacked

“I believe the future of the Man Utd manager is already determined. Even if they win the FA Cup I think he’s gone.”

A huge exodus is expected from Old Trafford this summer, which should free up more funds.

French duo Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane will leave on free transfers, taking £450,000 a week off the wage bill.

While loan trio Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek and Mason Greenwood could all leave permanently.

Veteran midfielder Casemiro has admirers in Saudi Arabia.

And Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will all have a year remaining on their respective contracts and could go.

Marcus Rashford has attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain, with the French champions chasing a Kylian Mbappe replacement.

Arne Slot’s record is WORSE than Erik ten Hag’s

ARNE SLOT is set to be tasked with a near-impossible job – replacing Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

Should he swap the Eredivisie for the Premier League, Slot will follow in the footsteps of fellow follically-challenged Dutchman Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag left Ajax to become Manchester United manager in 2022.

But he has suffered a nightmare spell at Old Trafford and appears to be a dead-man walking despite making the FA Cup final.

With Slot seemingly destined for Anfield, fans won’t be able to help but compare his record in Holland with Ten Hag’s.

And Reds supporters won’t like what they see.
