Brentford go ‘full WWE mode’ and introduce Ivan Toney ‘like The Undertaker’ as light show marks striker’s return

FOOTBALL fans hilariously reacted to Brentford going “full WWE mode” with the return of Ivan Toney.

The Bees striker, 27, was back in Thomas Frank’s side against Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening after eight months out due to a betting ban.

And he made up for lost time by firing a free-kick into the bottom corner to give Brentford the lead in the 19th minute.

Although it landed him in a cheat storm after fans spotted he moved the mall AND the referee’s foam spray to create a better shooting angle.

They went on to clinch a 3-2 win – their first victory in eight games in all competitions.

But it was Brentford’s pre-match build-up that left many social media users in hysterics.

As the players prepared to make their way out of the tunnel, WWE icon The Undertaker’s ringwalk music began playing as the lights went down inside the Gtech Community Stadium.

A video of Toney then began playing as another song kicked in to get the fans in the mood for his re-introduction to the team.

And the clip went viral online as the football world reacted.

One said: “Brentford going full WWE mode and introducing Ivan Toney like The Undertaker is absolutely hilarious 😭😭😭.”

Another added: “Brentford’s WWE intro for Toney is epic! 😂”

A third replied: “What an entry!!”

While a fourth responded: “Haha, that sounds like a fun way to introduce a player!”

Brentford will be hoping Toney can inspire Frank’s men to Premier League safety, with the West London side now six points clear of the bottom three.

But there remain fears he could still leave before the end of the month as Chelsea and Arsenal are linked with moves for him.

Toney scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season as only Erling Haaland and Harry Kane managed more.
