Arsenal vs Bayern Munich – Champions League quarter-final: Gunners welcome bruised Germans for huge first leg

ARSENAL host German giants Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday night.

The Gunners are in the last-8 of the iconic European competition for the first time since 2009-10, ending a run of seven straight last-16 exits.

Arsenal were pushed all the way to penalties by Portuguese giants Porto in the last round but eventually booked their place in the quarter-finals thanks to David Raya’s heroics in the shootout.

Mikel Arteta’s side are still firmly in the race for the Premier League title after superb domestic showing this season.

The same can’t be said for Bayern Munich as they look set to miss out on the Bundesliga trophy for the first time in 12 seasons.

However, their presence in the Champions League can’t be understated, especially with England skipper Harry Kane up top for the German giants.
