JAI OPETAIA returns to the ring next month against old foe Mairis Briedis in a big rematch.

The Australian overcame Breidis in an entertaining fight almost two years ago, winning the IBF and Ring Magazine cruiserweight titles.

Since then, Opetaia has faced two Brits in Jordan Thompson and Ellis Zorro, knocking them both out in the fourth and first rounds respectively.

Briedis hasn’t been in the boxing ring since his loss to Opetaia, but is now looking to win back his titles, with the IBF currently vacant once again.

The bout will take place in Saudi Arabia on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk.

When is Opetaia vs Briedis?

  • Opetaia vs Briedis will take place on Saturday, May 18.
  • The fight will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
  • Ring-walks can be expected at around 9.30pm BST and is the co-main event of the evening.
