PSG launched a probe into Galtier in April following alleged racist remarks attributed to their manager.

Galtier has denied the claims.

French outlet Le Parisien claim that the 56-year-old has been taken into police custody alongside son John Valovic-Galtier regarding the allegations.

Galtier was initially accused of making the comments in 2021 by former Nice director of football Julien Fournier.

A report by French football reporter Romain Molina claimed that Fournier accused Galtier of writing in emails that his team had “too many black and Muslim players”.

Further reporting by Nice-Matin alleged that Galtier asked his Muslim players not to observe Ramadan.

He was also accused of vetoing a potential transfer due to the player’s religion.

Following Fournier’s report, a statement from Galtier’s lawyer read: “Christophe Galtier was amazed to learn of the insulting and defamatory remarks of Mr. Julien Fournier against him.

“Given the seriousness of the charges against him, which he disputes with the greatest firmness, Christophe Galtier immediately seized his lawyer… to initiate, without delay, the necessary legal proceedings which are necessary.”

Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram, who played under Galtier at Nice, later called on the club to “speak up”.

He told Canal Plus: “I think there are people at the club who are well-placed to know exactly what happened, none of this ‘I heard that…’.

“And I think these people should speak up, to clarify everything that we’re hearing.

“It moves me and troubles me a lot that those concerned aren’t speaking up so that the truth comes out.”

Galtier is widely expected to be sacked by PSG, following his side’s failure to go deep in the Champions League.

The French giants were reportedly in talks with Julian Nagelsmann regarding the post.

After talks with the German broke down, Galtier is expected to be replaced by Luis Enrique.
