Prior to the game he sat down with presenter Josh Denzel and pundits Rio Ferdinand and Cesc Fabregas to discuss the big match.

Asked for his prediction, Super Mario sat on the fence – but admitted he doesn’t fancy extra time or penalties.

Not wanting to pick between his former teams, Balotelli said: “I hope one of the two wins.

“But especially wins quickly – not extra time because traffic in Istanbul is crazy.”
