LEEDS are reportedly eyeing two former Tottenham bosses after stepping up their hunt for a new manager.

But fellow target Steven Gerrard is said to “have reservations” over taking the job.

Leeds have already missed out on four managers after struggling to replace Jesse Marsch, who was sacked a week ago.

They first failed with an approach for Carlos Corberan, who ended up penning a new deal with West Brom.

And they were then rebuffed in their efforts to poach highly-rated Andoni Iraola from high-flying LaLiga minnows Rayo Vallecano.

But three was not the magic number when Leeds were snubbed by Feyenoord’s Arnie Slot on Friday.

And talks with Alfred Schreuder also broke down after the ex-Ajax boss attended Sunday’s defeat to Manchester United.

The Mail claims Leeds are now hoping to appoint a boss before this weekend’s crunch clash against fellow strugglers Everton.

They have added several gaffers to their shortlist, including fan favourite Gary McAllister.

But it’s ex-Spurs and Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo who is of major interest, with the Portuguese tactician currently at Al-Ittihad.

Leeds are also keen on speaking to Mauricio Pochettino, but he is likely to be holding out for a bigger opportunity after leaving Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

Gerrard is another wanted by Leeds following his Aston Villa earlier this season.

But the Liverpool legend is said to have doubts about taking charge at Elland Road.

Meanwhile, ex-Leeds boss Marsch could be set for an immediate return.

Southampton are thought to be closing in on the American after sacking Nathan Jones.

Saints are bottom of the table and are four points behind Leeds, with the pair playing each other at Elland Road later this month.
