How Chelsea could line up for Man City rematch in FA Cup with injury-plagued Blues missing Sterling, Mount and Pulisic

CHELSEA travel to Manchester City in the FA Cup on Sunday – three days after being beaten by Pep Guardiola’s side in the Premier League.

Graham Potter’s side is now even more injury-plagued than it was for the 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge.

How Chelsea could line up against Everton

Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic were both replaced early on through injury, while Mason Mount picked up a knock in training on Wednesday.

It remains to be seen whether any of the Chelsea trio will be involved in the weekend rematch with City.

Last season’s losing finalists will have to get past the Premier League champions in order to be in the hat for the fourth round.

But Potter could rotate heavily to protect his ailing squad for the league, where they are currently languishing in 10th.

Youngsters Lewis Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka both impressed off the bench on Thursday and could be in from the start on Sunday.

Conor Gallagher may play in midfield alongside Chukwuemeka, having come off the bench in the last three Prem matches.

Injuries to attackers could see Omari Hutchinson, 19, get the nod from the start.

While injuries also mean Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kai Havertz are likely to start despite poor showings on Thursday, with World Cup sensation Hakim Ziyech an option on the right.

At the back Reece James’ latest injury means Cesar Azpilicueta is likely to continue on the right of defence.

But 38-year-old Thiago Silva may be given a rest, with Trevoh Chalobah and Kalidou Koulibaly a possible centre-back pairing.

Chalobah has been an unused sub in the last two games.

£35million new signing Benoit Badiashile is another option, but Potter may be reluctant to throw the 21-year-old in from the start straight away.
