One hypothesised: “Man is just happy seeing a former gooner knocking out their rivals.”

While another added: “Henry couldn’t hold his laughs seeing a former gooner knocking out Arsenal rivals.”

It was certainly a motivating factor for Giroud, who said: “It means a lot. I received a nice warm welcome here.

“As an ex-gunner, it always feels good to win against Tottenham. It was a great atmosphere.”

Henry is typically joined in the CBS studio on Champions League nights by Micah Richards, Jamie Carragher and host Kate Abdo.
