Chelsea boss Graham Potter set to axe three top stars in January transfer window cull as squad overhaul continues

CHELSEA manager Graham Potter is set to sell three star players this month as he looks to re-build the squad, according to reports.

The ex-Brighton boss is open to getting rid of several underperforming members of the squad, with the team languishing in tenth place in the Premier League table.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could depart despite arriving just four months ago.

The 33-year-old has scored just one goal in 11 league matches and has so far failed to impress after joining the club as he wanted to work again with previous boss Thomas Tuchel.

Aston Villa are reportedly keen on Aubameyang, according to The Athletic, having just let Danny Ings go to West Ham.

Kai Havertz could also leave Chelsea this January, claim Sky Germany.

The attacking midfielder has been in poor form this season, finding the back of the net six times in 27 appearances.

They report Havertz is happy playing for Potter but does “not have faith in the Chelsea squad.”

The Blues could look to offload him following the signings of other attackers Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Joao Felix as well as Christopher Nkunku arriving in the summer.

Forgotten man Tiemoue Bakayoko could also be on the way out, five years after he last featured for Chelsea.

The Frenchman arrived for a fee of around £40million in 2017 but has only featured on 43 occasions.

He has spent time out on loan at Monaco, Napoli and AC Milan.

Bakayoko is into his second spell at the San Siro this season but is still waiting for his first appearance of the campaign, being left on the bench 19 times in all competitions.

Reports suggest his loan deal will be terminated and he may join Turkish outfit Adana Demirspor.

Other potential departures from Chelsea include Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech, which both attracting interest from Newcastle and Everton respectively.

The West Londoners could see more arrivals this month, not just departures, with a bid reportedly in for Lyon’s Malo Gusto.
