Arsenal in boost as Reiss Nelson returns to training after injury as Mikel Arteta prepares to face Everton


REISS NELSON is back in Arsenal training in a big boost for the high-flying Gunners.

The winger, 23, has been out of action since December when he strained his thigh in a friendly against Juventus before the season restarted.

However, Arsenal fans and team-mates were delighted to see the academy graduate back on the training pitches at London Colney this week.

Nelson was in a jubilant mood as he laughed and posed alongside close pal Eddie Nketiah.

The excited in-form striker wrote on Twitter: “The boy’s back πŸ€©πŸ™πŸΎ”

And fans piled into the replies with their messages of support for Nelson, who has two goals and an assist in his two Premier League games this season.

One said: “I can feel the greatness coming.”

Another added: “Am happy for our boy Reiss Nelson, if their is one player I always wish to flourish is this guy.”

And a third commented, referring to Folarin Balogun: “Hale End winning us the league and winning the golden boot in France. We are eating good this season.”

Nelson – whose current contract expires this summer – is unlikely to be ready to be involved at Everton on Saturday having only just got back out on the grass again.

Earlier in the week, he posted clips of him working hard in the gym to regain full fitness.

Mikel Arteta will also be without Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Jesus while Mohamed Elneny is now a long-term absentee.

Thomas Partey is a doubt and that could see Jorginho make his debut in midfield.
