Strong performances in the group stages, as well as the round of 16 against South Korea, ultimately meant nothing as they were dumped out in the quarters by 2018 finalists Croatia on penalties.

Croatia happened to have the world’s most beautiful football player sporting their colours.

Women’s international star Ana Maria Markovic stripped down to a thong and wore the Croatian shirt in support.

Croatia went on to lose their semi-final 3-0 to Argentina, but the performance left the Grasshopper women’s ace proud.

And blonde bombshell Markovic may have converted Neymar into a Croatia fan before the defeat.

The Paris Saint-Germain star liked the 23-year-old’s post.

In fact, Markovic’s post was so good it had Argentine’s in the comments apologising for the World Cup semi-final demolition.
