Watford next manager odds – Pellegrini, Benitez and Fonseca rival favourite Lampard for Hornets job if Ranieri is sacked

FRANK LAMPARD is the outright favourite to replace Claudio Ranieri as Watford manager.

That’s according to bookmakers Betfair, who’ve updated their next manager market as the pressure increases on Ranieri at Vicarage Road.

The Italian replaced Xisco Munoz in October but has been unable to reverse the club’s fortunes.

The 70-year-old has collected just seven points from a possible 36 since his arrival at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets — aside from wins over Everton and Manchester United — have lost 10 of their 13 matches under Ranieri.

Watford sit 17th in the division and one point clear of the relegation zone but do boast valuable games in hand over rivals Norwich and Newcastle.

As a result, Ranieri is favourite to be the next top-flight boss received of his duties.

He would be the 15th managerial departure under the club’s owners, the Pozzo family, since they took over in 2012.

But who will replace Ranieri?

Betfair believe former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is the frontrunner having significantly shortened his odds from 10/1 to 7/2.

Paulo Fonseca is next in the betting at 5/1 having recently been tipped for roles at Tottenham, Everton and Newcastle.

Daniel Farke, who was sacked as Norwich manager in November, shares odds of 8/1 along with Bournemouth boss Scott Parker.

Free agent Rafa Benitez, who was sacked by the Toffees on Sunday, and Real Betis’ Manuel Pellegrini are locked together at 10s while Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray has been added to the list at 14/1.

Mark Hughes has made it clear he would like a return to top-flight management and is offered at 16/1 to get his wish.

Marcelino is available at 16s and Brighton’s much sought-after Graham Potter is outsider of the pack at 20/1.
