He enjoyed loan spells at Hereford United, Tranmere Rovers and Hull City before leaving for Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in June 2013.

Gulacsi soon became their No1 and won the domestic title twice before Leipzig swooped to bring him to Germany two years later.

He is now starring for the Bundesliga club on a regular basis and helped them to lift the DFB-Pokal trophy last term.

Now he and his teammates have been gearing up for a shot at the Champions League after their fourth-placed finish last term.

However, he may just have been watching Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer a little too much after he endured a nightmare in Leipzig’s opener group game tonight.

He received a back pass around 35 yards out from his goal after an attack broke down.

The Hungarian had acres around him, but he hung on to the ball far too long as he allowed Marian Shved to close him down.

Gulasci panicked and tried to pass the ball to his right, but he kicked it straight to the Donetsk attacker, who duly collected the ball and proceeded to roll it into the empty net.

Ruthless fans instantly took to Twitter to mock the stopper, with one writing: “I know Europe is helping Ukraine out but…”

Another wrote: “Comedy gold!”

A fellow fan tweeted: “That’s a new level of fail. What the hell?”

Leipzig managed to grab an equaliser shortly after half time through Mohamed Simakan.

But Shved instantly gave Shakhtar the lead again.

And things got even better for the visitors from Ukraine when Mykhaylo Mudryk added a third before Lassina Traore grabbed a fourth.
