Mohammed Kudus opened the scoring for the Dutch side but the tie was soon turned on its head.

Goals from Giacomo Raspadori, Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Piotr Zielinski gave Napoli a 3-1 lead at half time.

And Raspadori, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Giovanni Simeone topped off the battering.

Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli are top of their group having also beaten Liverpool and Rangers.

Spalletti said: “When you go into a stadium like this, with that roar there, it’s not easy to immediately regain the conviction in pressing and recovering after going a goal down.

“It could have disturbed us a lot, but the team did the things they had to do.

“They never let themselves be influenced and won a great match.
