  • That’s all from Geneva.

Switzerland turned Group A2 on it’s head tonight, and if that performance was anything to go by, they could end up second or even first in this group.

It is so open, and anyone can beat anyone in this group it seems.

We has a record breaking goal, a disallowed goal, and a penalty overturned by VAR, in a game that had it all.

Join us tomorrow for coverage of Australia vs UAE, of which the SunSport coverage will begin at 5:30 PM.

Thank you for reading, and goodnight!

  • Man of the match.

The SunSport man of the match today goes to Nico Elvedi.

Whilst he was pushed close by record breaker Haris Seferovic and stand in goalkeeper Jonas Omlin, he was the standout performer.

Who takes your man of the match award for today’s game?

  • Nico Elvedi was impeccable.

The Swiss are famous for many things, but among chocolate, watches, and alpine scenery, you can add Nico Elvedi.

The Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back was sensational at the heart of the Swiss defense, and they were a totally different proposition to a week ago.

He made an abundance of clearances and blocks, and made just one error in what was a complete showing for his country.

  • They needed CR7.

Portugal looked limp tonight without their main man – Cristiano Ronaldo.

They continually lashed shots over the crossbar from range, as they looked toothless without their hero to build up play towards.

Life after Cristiano could be difficult for the national side, despite having a plethora of young attacking talent at their disposal.

  • Seferovic the record breaker.

Haris Seferovic broke the record for the fastest goal in Nations League history tonight, recorded at just 57 seconds.

It was a well taken finish from the Swiss target man, who nodded in a Kevin Widmer cross with aplomb.

  • Elsewhere in Group A2

Spain took pole position in the group today after they beat the Czech Republic 2-0, thanks to goals from Carlos Soler and Pablo Sarabia.

That left Portugal in 2nd place on 7 points, just 1 behind.

Czech Republic stayed on 4 points, whilst Switzerland jumped to 3 points in this one.

With two fixtures left it is very much still all to play for.

  • So solid Swiss

Switzerland had us all fooled when they opened the scoring in just 55 seconds, but then defended for the rest of the game…

That is full time here in Geneva!

The game winning goal came courtesy of Haris Seferovic, who scored the competitions fastest ever goal.

A shot from Horta curls wide, and it will be a goal kick for Omlin once more.

It is an international debut for who Leonidas Stergiou, who replaces Ricardo Rodriguez.

While Djibril Sow is swapped out for Michel Aebischer.

    Cancelo fires one over now.

Portugal need to relax a little when they are on the ball, they continue to fire pop shots over the bar.

  • 71. Switzerland 1-0 Portugal.

Granit Xhaka is bossing the game.

Bernardo Silva looks to dart into Swiss box, but Xhaka is having none of it and puts in a brilliant challenge.

Nuno Mendes has not been his brilliant best tonight.

A corner goes short to the left back, who whips the ball straight out of play.

  • 67. Switzerland 1-0 Portugal.

Bruno Fernandes fires the resulting free kick straight at Omlin.

He slips up with a poor pass straight to Silva, but fortunately bounces back to the Swiss keeper.
