Sadio Mane ‘awaits PSG offer as he stalls on new deal’, Spurs out to poach £70m Lautaro Martinez transfer from Arsenal

SADIO MANE is reportedly interested in a big money move to Paris Saint-Germain.

It is said to be for that reason that the Senegal star has yet to sign a new contract with Liverpool.

Elsewhere, Kylian Mbappe has confirmed that his transfer decision on a potential move to Real Madrid is set to be announced before he jets off with the French squad.

And Tottenham are reportedly ready to nab £70m Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez from under the noses of Arsenal.

  • Ten Hag plans Botman swoop

Man United boss Erik ten Hag is plotting to hijack AC Milan’s deal to sign Sven Botman, reports suggest.

Milan are reportedly on the verge of sealing a £25 million transfer for the defender.

But it’s been reported that Ten Hag is planning a last-minute grab to pinch the 22-year-old, Football Insider claim.

The report states that Botman was one of the names mentioned when Ten Hag met with United director of football John Murtough last week.

  • Blues pair set for return

Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja will return to Chelsea next season.

Broja has been on loan with Southampon, and Gallagher with Crystal Palace.

But Tuchel insists the pair will be part of the Blues squad next season as better players.

He said: “They will come back for sure.

“When you give them on loan you give them to get better and more experienced players back.”

  • De Jong given career advice

Frenkie de Jong has been urged to snub Man United and remain with Barcelona by Steve McManaman.

The ex-Liverpool star told HorseRacing.net: “For him to go to Manchester United then I think they’d have to pay him more than he’s earning at Barcelona.

“Which I think will be a really hard thing to do considering that he went to Barcelona for a huge amount of money.

“You’d rather stay at Barcelona in the Champions League with Xavi trying to change things around.

“Players like [Andreas] Christensen and [Robert] Lewandowski potentially coming in makes that a more exciting challenge in my opinion.”

  • Arsenal transfer plans ‘in tatters’

Arsenal’s summer transfer plans lie in tatters, according to TeamTALK, after Monday’s defeat at Newcastle left them highly unlikely to qualify for the Champions League.

The Gunners will miss out on a top-four spot unless North London rivals Tottenham lose at bottom-of-the-table and already relegated Norwich on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu had identified a number of transfer targets, but now risk losing them without the prospect of Europe’s elite competition.

Those include Paulo Dybala, who had been tipped to move to the Emirates from Juventus, but now appears destined to stay in Italy with a switch to Roma or Inter.

Darwin Nunez and Victor Osimhen will also supposedly reject a move to the Premier League unless Champions League football is also on the agenda.

  • Paqueta spotted ‘in Newcastle shirt’

Newcastle United fans have been left excited by an image appearing to show transfer target Lucas Paqueta wearing a Newcastle United short – although many are less impressed with the lengths taken to get it.

The Brazilian was visiting his great friend and international teammate Bruno Guimaraes in the north-east, and was supposedly snapped while having a kickaround in the midfielder’s garden.

Paqueta has been linked with the Toon Army since Guimaraes’ arrival in January, and could be ready to follow his pal in making a £58million switch to St James’ Park in the summer.

However, once again, Arsenal are also interested in the player, as our French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

  • United in battle for Sergej

Manchester United are preparing for a three-way fight with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Lazio star has been linked with Old Trafford for several months, but The Mail are reporting that the Red Devils are now ready to make a move for the midfielder.

However, United’s hopes of landing the Serbian have been hampered by the calibre of the other clubs in for him – especially considering Milinkovic-Savic’s main reason for wanting to leave the Stadio Olimpico is Lazo’s failure to reach the Champions League.

The 27-year-old capped another impressive season in the Italian capital with an injury time equaliser at Juventus on Monday.

  • Boehly will begin with crown Jules

Todd Boehly will make Sevilla’s Jules Kounde his first purchase after completing his takeover at Chelsea.

A deal for the French defender – equally comfortable at right-back or centre-half – is expected to cost the Blues in the region of £60million, and will go through as soon as the club’s takeover is completed and its sanctions are lifted, according to Goal.

The 23-year-old has been a long-term target of the London club, and will be a statement of intent from new owner Boehly, who has indicted that significant funds will be available.

Thomas Tuchel is in desperate need of defensive reinforcements after it became apparent that both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are intending to leave the club for Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.

There are also doubts over the futures of Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso with the Spanish pair also linked with a return to their homeland.

  • Hibs set to appoint Johnson

Scottish Premiership side Hibernian will name Lee Johnson as their new manager in the next 48 hours.

The former Bristol City and Sunderland boss has reportedly agreed terms with the Edinburgh club and will soon be confirmed as Shaun Maloney’s successor at Easter Road.

  • Arsenal ‘make enquiry’ for Depay

Arsenal have contacted Barcelona regarding a summer swoop for Memphis Depay.

The Gunners are in the market for at least one forward, and ABC believe they are now contemplating making the Dutchman their first choice.

Depay only arrived at the Nou Camp last year, and made an electric start to life in LaLiga with eight goals in his first 14 appearances.

However, he has found himself increasingly on the bench since Xavi took charge of the Catalans, and is likely to be one of the players moved on in the next window as Barca look to raise funds.

It remains to be seen whether Depay would be willing to move to a club that are unable to provide Champions League football.

  • Kante would improve United midfield

N’Golo Kante is guaranteed to improve the Manchester United midfield if the Red Devils are able to tempt the 31-year-old to Old Trafford this summer.

United have been heavily linked with the Frenchman over the past few days, and Paul Parker believes the deal would be a no-brainer should it present itself.

The former England international believes that Kante could fulfil the role that current United midfielders struggle with.

In conversation with indiabetting.co.in, Parker said of Kante: “He will improve Manchester United’s midfield a hundred per cent because he can go and get the ball off of players without always fouling them.

“He doesn’t go around looking to hurt people and when he does get the ball, he keeps the ball.”

  • Hammers weighing up Dennis deal

West Ham United are considering a £20million move for Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis.

The Mirror believe that the Londoners are looking to bring in a new striker as competition for Michail Antonio, and are seriously considering the Nigerian hitman.

Dennis enjoyed a blistering start to his first season in the Premier League, and had netted eight goals by the turn of the year.

However, the 24-year-old has managed just two goals and one assist in his last 17 appearances as Watford plummeted back towards the Championship.

Dennis has three years to run on his current deal at Vicarage Road.

  • Timber transfer will cost £30m

Manchester United will have to pay £30million to bring Jurrien Timber to Old Trafford this summer.

That’s the understanding of transfers journalist Ekrem Konur, who understands that Ajax have set an asking price of €35m – approximately £30m – for the 20-year-old.

Incoming United boss Erik ten Hag has hinted that he would love to bring Timber with him from Amsterdam, but admitted that many of Europe’s top club will be monitoring the Dutch international’s movements.

Timber mainly operates as a centre-back, but has also filled in admirably at right-back when required this season.

  • Nketiah not up to Liverpool standard

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has been linked with a surprise move to Liverpool – but one former Anfield ace believes his old club would be making a mistake.

The 22-year-old is out of contract this summer and had been expected to move away from the Emirates prior to his recent run of starts.

However, Steve McManaman feels the forward would be better off remaining in North London if Mikel Arteta can guarantee him similar playing time next term.

Speaking to HorseRacing.net, McManaman said: “I don’t think he’s good enough for Liverpool to be honest.

“I like Eddie Nketiah but he’s not going to dismantle any of that Liverpool front five and the club has an academy full of centre forwards, so I can’t see this move happening.

“Mikel Arteta has selected him a lot recently, but it wasn’t too long ago that he didn’t seem interested in him.

“He just has to work hard and keep improving. [Alexandre] Lacazette may leave on a free transfer this summer, so there could be space for him to continue with Arsenal, but he needs to see whether his manager is planning on bringing in two or three forwards.

“If he’s happy there though and he’s playing there then he should stay at Arsenal.”

  • Welcome Maat: Dortmund want defender

Borussia Dortmund are preparing to make an offer for young Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen, according to BILD.

The Bundesliga club want to bring the 20-year-old Dutchman in on loan initially with a view to a permanent move if he impresses at Signal Iduna Park.

Maatsen has spent a successful year on loan at Coventry, making 40 appearances as the Sky Blues registered their highest league finish in 16 years.

  • Mourinho wants another Matic reunion

Jose Mourinho wants to link up with Nemanja Matic for a third time by bringing the midfielder to Roma, according to reports in Italy.

Mourinho, who previously managed the Serbian at both Chelsea and Manchester United, has made no secret of his admiration for Matic.

The 33-year-old is out of contract at Old Trafford this summer, and looks nailed on for a move to the Italian capital on a free.

  • City’s swoop for Spanish Seagull

Manchester City are considering a £30million bid for Brighton’s Marc Cucurella, according to reports in The Mail.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant first season in the Premier League, and has been a key factor in helping the Seagulls to what could be their highest finish since returning to the top-flight.

Cucurella has excelled whether operating as a wing-back, or on the left of a back three, and last week picked up Albion’s Player of the Year award.

Pep Guardiola is known to be an admirer of his compatriot, and sees the defender as the potential answer to City’s problematic left-back spot.

  • Angel and the Old Lady

Juventus are expected to sign Angel Di Maria on a short-term contract this summer.

The 34-year-old is out of contract at Paris Saint-Germain in June, and the French champions have not discussed the possibility of triggering an automatic extension.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the former Manchester United attacking midfielder wants one final season in Europe before returning to his native Argentina, and has caught the eye of Serie A giants Juve.

  • United could do the Botman

Manchester United are considering a summer swoop for centre-back Sven Botman, according to the Football Insider.

The Lille defender has been heavily linked with a move to AC Milan, but reports now suggest that the Red Devils could beat the Italian giants to the 22-year-old.

Erik ten Hag has already begun discussing transfer targets with United officials, and has reportedly made a left-sided centre-half a priority.

Botman has earned many plaudits during his two seasons at Stade Pierre Mauroy, and was heavily linked with both Newcastle and Tottenham during the January transfer window.

The Dutch U21 international has three years remaining on his contract with the Ligue 1 outfit.

  • Arteta in for Barca’s Umtiti

Mikel Arteta remains interested in bringing Samuel Umtiti to Arsenal after it emerged that Barcelona were willing to sell the defender.

The Daily Star reports that the Arsenal boss is considering a swoop for the 28-year-old this summer despite missing out on a loan move for the player back in January.

The French international is supposedly surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp, and has now been told he can leave the LaLiga giants.

The news comes in the same week that Gunners centre-back Gabriel was linked with a transfer to Juventus.

Should the Brazilian exit the Emirates, Arteta may well decide to replace him with the experienced Umtiti.

However, many Arsenal supporters are hoping to see William Saliba in the first team next season after the 21-year-old’s successful season on loan at Marseille.

  • Good morning football fans

Real Madrid will announce the free transfer of Kylian Mbappe after their Champions League final against Liverpool.

AS and Marca both claim the PSG striker has agreed a mega-money five-year deal to move to the Bernabeu.

And his contract will also include the world’s highest release clause – currently held by Barcelona’s Ferran Torres at £1BILLION.

Elsewhere, Lionel Messi will reportedly link up with David Beckham at Inter Miami.

But he won’t ditch PSG until his deal expires in 2023.

DIRECTV Sports report part of the proposal will be for Messi to own a 35 percent stake in the MLS franchise.

The Argentina legend has also been linked with a return to Barcelona this summer.

Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski is reportedly desperate to join Barcelona.

And he is even willing to take a £100,000-a-week wage cut to make his dream move come true.

Chelsea and PSG are both thought to have joined the race for the wantaway Bayern Munich striker.

But Mundo Deportivo claims Lewandowski only wants Barcelona and is ready to do whatever it takes to get a move.

In other news, Tottenham will sign both Cristian Romero and Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent basis this summer, reports suggest.

That is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Spurs have set aside €80million (£68m) to tie both loan stars down with fresh contracts.

Kulusevski joined the North Londoners from Juventus in January on an initial 18-month loan deal.

Romero arrived earlier last summer on loan from Atalanta with the option to buy for £42.5m.

It is understood that there is also a five-year contract already agreed with the centre-back that will become official once his loan turns into a permanent transfer.

Finally, Enzo Fernandez is set to become the subject of a three-way transfer tussle between three of European football’s elite clubs, according to reports.

The 21-year-old River Plate star is being targeted by Manchester City, Manchester United and Champions League finalists Real Madrid.

According to Clarin, the star is irreplaceable for Marcelo Gallardo’s River Plate side, but with a release clause of just £17million the situation could be taken out of their hands.

All three clubs have had success shopping in the South American markets, with Man City already securing the services of the 2021 Americas player of the year Julian Alvarez – also from River.

  • Kante speaks on future

N’Golo Kante has opened up about his Chelsea future.

But he refused to reveal where he’ll be playing next season as he’s only focused on the current campaign with the Blues.

Kante told Sky Sports: “The only thing is sure that I have one more year and the only thing is to finish this season.

“I’ll think about it in the right time.”

  • De Jong transfer possiblilty

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has refused to rule out a transfer exit for Frenkie De Jong.

The Barca chief will instead let club boss Xavi make the final decision on De Jong’s whereabouts next season.

He said: “We will do what is best for the club. If the economic levers that we want to activate come off, no player will leave for economic reasons.

“I insist. Let the sports management work. There are players who are quoted to have received offers.

In the sports area, Xavi and Mateu Alemany rule and he ends up deciding the club’s sports management.

“I will follow what the professionals of the club say.”

  • Man United transfer boost

Man United transfer target Nikola Milenkovic isn’t good enough to play for Juventus who are also interested in the defender.

That’s the view of Italy defender Pietro Vierchowod who formed his verdict after watching Milenkovic’s performance for Fiorentina against Sampdoria.

“I have to say I was watching Sampdoria-Fiorentina yesterday and I don’t believe Milenkovic is good enough for Juventus.

“Obviously, this is just my personal opinion. He conceded four goals against a side that is already safe and with such basic errors, that’s just not possible.

“The Serbian has a good physique, but if I was the Bianconeri, I wouldn’t go for him.”

  • Klopp rules out Mbappe move

Liverpool are NOT in the transfer race for Mbappe, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed.

Klopp said: “Of course we are interested in Kylian Mbappe, we are not blind!

“But we are NOT part of this Mbappé race… we can’t be part of these battles”.
