‘Please delete’ – Man City fans beg Phil Foden to get haircut as he unveils new look ahead of Dortmund clash

MANCHESTER CITY fans have jokingly begged for Phil Foden to get a new haircut – hours after he showed off his latest trim.

The hometown hero was visited by his barber today ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund.

And Foden had his shirt number, 47, shaved into the side of his head.

In an unusual tweak, part of the number four was removed and detached from the No47.

Fans though have been left less than impressed with City star Foden’s new hairstyle.

One horrified supporter joked on social media: “Please delete.”

Another said: “Why did the barber let him think this was a good idea?”

A third wrote: “I don’t know if I’ll even be able to cheer him when he scores a goal anymore at this rate. That’s absolutely shocking.”

Others though stuck up for the England ace, with one supportive fan writing: “I think it’s cool.”

The No47 does have sentimental significance to Foden, and is likely to be why he has not changed to a more regular first-team number after establishing himself in Pep Guardiola’s side.

He has a bond to the number because his grandfather Ronnie, a huge City fan, passed away aged 47, according to the Daily Mail.

Foden is claimed to have been offered the chance by City to change his number – but he refused as he wanted to keep No47.

He will once again don the number on the back of his shirt, front of his shorts and this time on the side of his head, when Borussia Dortmund visit the Etihad on Wednesday.

Foden was on the scoresheet in City’s opening Champions League win – a 4-0 victory over Sevilla last week.

And he will be hoping his sharp new trim can help him fire City to all three points against Erling Haaland’s former side.
