MANCHESTER UNITED could capitalise on a move for Frenkie de Jong, with news that Barcelona could be forced to sell the star because of Financial Fair Play.

United are also interested in signing Benfica’s Darwin Nunez and Wolves’ Ruben Neves.

The news comes as Paul Pogba has reportedly been offered a whopping £8million-a-year contract from former club Juventus.

The Frenchman set to leave Old Trafford this summer and the Old Lady are eager to bring him back to Turin.

Meanwhile Erik Ten Hag has reportedly lined up N’Golo Kante as a top transfer target.

United are said to believe the 31-year-old France World Cup winner to be attainable, given he has a year left on his contract at Chelsea.

    Mancxhester United have finalised deals to bring Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren in as part of incoming manager Erik ten Hag’s backroom staff.

    Van der Gaag has been Ten Hag’s No2 at Ajax since last year and helped the Dutch giants clinch the Eredivisie title for a third season in a row.

    Meanwhile, former England boss McClaren had the Dutchman as his assistant back when they won the Dutch title with Twente in 2010.

    And transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that the pair will be arriving to work with Ten Hag at Old Trafford.

    Speaking on social media, he said: “Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren will be part of new Man United coaching staff, confirmed.

    “Full agreement at final stages and set to be signed with both of them”

  • Rangnick to juggle two roles

    Ralf Rangnick is determined to make the most out of the consultancy role he has agreed to take up at Manchester United once the season comes to an end.

    Rangnick joined United in November as interim boss following a deal that will see him being promoted as a consultant for the club in June.

    The German head coach was later announced as the next Austria manager, which raised questions as to how he will be able to juggle his next managerial job when he moves upstairs at Old Trafford.

    According to The Times, however, the 63-year-old tactician is committed to his upcoming duties and wants his position at the club to be “meaningful”.

    Juventus star Paulo Dybala, who was previously linked with Manchester United, is set to leave Turin in the summer.

    Incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been linked with a sensational swoop for Chelsea star N’Golo Kante this summer.

    The takeover disruption at Stamford Bridge has convinced a number of teams that some of the Blues’ prized assets are up for grabs at the end of the season.

    According to The Mirror, this has led to United chiefs, including Ten Hag, believing a swoop for Kante is realistic.

    The news comes after SunSport exclusively revealed that the West Londoners were fearing the midfielder would be one of a number of players on their way out of the club.

    Chelsea are already losing Antonio Rudiger, who is joining Real Madrid, as well as Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen, who have been linked with Barcelona.

    Bayern Munich, who are interested in Ajax star Jurrien Timber confirmed he may join Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.

    But Florian Plettenberg, a correspondent for the German champions, tweeted an update which is good news for United fans.

    Plettenberg said: “Bayern inquired about him but it is said the 20 year-old could join Ten Hag at Manchester United.

    “Talks with his management have taken place and Manchester United is seriously interested”

    That is according to Sky Sports, who claim Timber is on his way out of the Dutch champions.

    However, Ten Hag categorically stated that he believes Overmars could still have a future at Ajax.

    TV presenter Derksen, 73, seemingly admitted live on air last month that he sexually assaulted an unconscious woman 50 years ago, although he later backtracked on his comments.

    And while Dutch prosecutors have opened an enquiry, TV show Today Inside later revealed that he would be returning.

    When elaborating on Overmars’ situation, Ten Hag added: “We humans are in this world to help each other and not to shoot each other.

    ‘I have said many times: this championship is also his championship. We built this team together.

    “After the game against Heerenveen, I also congratulated Marc with the title via text.'”

    Erik ten Hag has stated that he plans to keep Cristiano Ronaldo at the club and he does have a future at Old Trafford.

    The 37-year-old has scored 24 goals in all competitions this season.
