Man Utd fans all say the same thing as Christian Eriksen dominates France as incredible stats are revealed

MANCHESTER UNITED fans believe Christian Eriksen might just be one of their best-ever signings after watching the Great Dane dismantle the world champions.

The Denmark midfielder – who arrived at United as a free agent after his stellar career-rebuilding cameo with Brentford last season – was too hot to handle in a 2-0 win over France on Sunday.

In fact, stats compiled by @StatmanDave underline just how dominate the 30-year-old was in the Nations League clash in Copenhagen.

Eriksen had 80 touches of the ball, completed eight key passes and over half of the crosses he attempted.

He did not lose the ball while dribbling with it, came out on top in over half of the tackles he made, and his passes found their mark 84 percent of the time.

That is not to mention his raking ball forward in the build-up for Kasper Dolberg’s opening goal, or his corner which led to the second from Andreas Skov Olsen.

The ex-Spurs star’s display inevitably prompted huge praise from United fans online.

One tweeted: “Eriksen has to go down as one of the best bits of business this club has done.”

Another said: “I’ve seen the light – Christian Eriksen is the best midfielder in the world.”

And a third added: “Eriksen so good man. We have a genuine world class midfielder again in our ranks.”

Eriksen has excelled in Erik ten Hag’s new-look United midfield and has been key to a four-game winning run in the Premier League.

It is a staggering return to glory for a player who collapsed on the pitch when his heart stopped temporarily during a Euro 2020 clash against Finland.

After being saved by hero doctors, Eriksen was fitted with an ICD device.

He was forced to leave Inter Milan last season as he was banned from playing with a defibrillator under Serie A rules.

He joined Brentford on transfer deadline day in January, before signing for Man Utd in the summer.

Afterwards, thanking football fans for their support, Eriksen said he “died for five minutes” on the pitch.

His quality was not lost on France boss Didier Deschamps, who said: “He has always been someone who has a remarkable technical ability.

“But to play so frequently for his club in the midfield, to see the volume of games he plays, this ability to recover is impressive.”
