He was introduced to his new teammates and the Sampdoria fans following the club’s 1-1 draw with Lazio two weeks ago, but he has not yet been named in Giampaolo’s squad.

The midfielder has trained just once since arriving in Italy due to an ankle issue.

And the Sampdoria boss has revealed that he has no idea when he will be available to make his debut.

He said: “Since he arrived from Spurs, he only had one training session with us and nothing else.

“I hope he will be able to come back soon.

“I really don’t know when Harry will be available.”

Winks has fallen out-of-favour with Tottenham boss Antonio Conte.

He was limited to just 30 appearances last season – most of which were off the bench.

Conte even banished him from first team training last month in a bid to force him out of the club.

The ex-Chelsea manager was eager to offload Winks, Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon and Tanguy Ndombele in permanent transfers, but each player was loaned out before deadline day.
