Ex-PSG footballer Aminata Diallo re-arrested after allegedly organising iron bar attack on team-mate

FORMER Paris Saint-Germain women’s star Aminata Diallo has reportedly been re-arrested in connection with an alleged attack on her team-mate.

The 27-year-old was originally taken into custody last November as part of an investigation into the alleged attack on Kheira Hamraoui.

On that occasion Diallo was released without charge after being held for 36 hours.

But on Friday morning she was arrested again in connection to the incident.

French newspaper Le Monde, quoting the Versailles prosecutor’s office, say Diallo was taken into custody early this morning.

The case is now being looked at by a judge, with Diallo suspected of setting up the attack on her former team-mate.

Diallo’s lawyer, Mourad Battikh, declined to comment, according to French newspaper Midi Libre.

Earlier in the week four men were reported to have been arrested in connection with the alleged attack.

Speaking after those arrests, Battikh said, as per the New York Times: “Aminata is innocent and has claimed her innocence since the beginning.”

Two of the men were today claimed to have been charged with “criminal association” and “aggravated violence” for the alleged incident, which occurred on November 4, 2021.

The alleged attack occurred after a PSG team night out.

Hamraoui, 32, is claimed to have been dragged out of a car driven by Diallo, and attacked by two masked men with iron bars.

She told French newspaper L’Equipe earlier this year: “I experienced an attack of unbelievable violence.

“Two hooded strangers took me out of the car I was travelling in to hit me on the legs with iron bars. That night, I really thought I was going to stay there.

“I was screaming in pain. I tried to protect myself as much as possible. I have a very painful memory.”

Hamraoui still plays for PSG women, while Diallo has been without a club since her contract with the French team expired in the summer.
