EDOUARD MENDY – 2

Shocking decision to dawdle on ball led to Leeds opener and was nowhere near saving the second or third.

Has been out of sorts for around six months and is starting to become a major concern for fans.

REECE JAMES – 4

Kept in the back three by Tuchel but needs to return to wing-back ASAP.

Could not contain Rodrigo at free-kick as Spaniard headed home Leeds’ second and deep defensive position nullified attacking threat.

THIAGO SILVA – 5

Steady without doing anything special, which made him one of the team’s better performers.

Struggled to motivate teammates and looked a bit exposed when shape switch to a back four.

KALIDOU KOULIBALY – 4

Definitely a ball-playing defender… as was caught flat-footed by speedy Leeds several times.

Put in one or two hefty tackles and ended up with a red card late on.

RUBEN LOFTUS-CHEEK – 4

Swiftly becoming a regular under Tuchel and tried using frame to cause an issue on flanks.

However, he overplayed the ball several times to hinder the side’s progression in final third.

JORGINHO – 3

Chelsea’s most senior midfielder with N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic out.

But failed to step up as Blues suffered from lack of leadership in heart of side.

CONOR GALLAGHER – 4

Rewarded for development with first-ever Chelsea start but occasion was too big.

Struggled to retain possession and would be better suited to a more advanced role.

MARC CUCURELLA – 5

It takes some doing to keep a fit Ben Chilwell benched for two straight games.

Tried to make an impact at both ends of field but quality touch was severely lacking.

MASON MOUNT – 4

Had a decent shot early on but struggled to impose himself as game went on.

A few more clinical decisions could have resulted in goal and maybe needs to be tried in new role.

KAI HAVERTZ – 3

Needs to prove he is worthy of becoming Chelsea’s main attacker.

Goes missing when most needed and nobody is still able to figure out his best position.

RAHEEM STERLING – 5

Needless foul gave Leeds free-kick which directly resulted in second goal.

But produced some decent dribbles and was Chelsea’s only real threat with ball at feet.

SUBS

Christian Pulisic (for Gallagher, 64’) – 4

Absolutely no impact in his 26 minutes on the pitch.

Hakim Ziyech (for Jorginho, 64’) – 4

Like Pulisic, would hardly have known he was playing.

Ben Chilwell (for Mount, 77’) – N/A

Cesar Azpilicueta (for Sterling, 86′) – N/A
