Arsenal are ‘just behind Man City’ claims Arsene Wenger as legendary boss claims Gunners CAN win Premier League

ARSENE WENGER claims Arsenal are the second favourites to win the Premier League behind Manchester City.

Wenger believes the Gunners have what it takes to win their first title since he led them to their historic Invincibles campaign in 2004.

The North Londoners are top of the table with only one point separating them from second-placed City after winning seven of their first eight league matches.

Wenger still believes Mikel Arteta’s men are “just behind” the reigning champions.

“The second best team to have a good chance to win the Premiership.

“Man City at some stage will focus highly on the Champions League.”

Wenger doesn’t expect substantial opposition by either Liverpool or Chelsea, who have endured a rocky start to the season.

The 72-year-old also doesn’t think Tottenham have what it takes to challenge City after their derby loss on Saturday.

Wenger added: “We don’t know about Liverpool, but they’re already 11 points behind, 10 points behind Man City is a mountain to climb.

“Chelsea doesn’t look consistent at the moment. They have not found the confidence to contend to win the league.’

Wenger concluded: “Tottenham by my DNA, I cannot be.”
