Anthony Joshua told he CAN still get Tyson Fury fight despite Oleksandr Usyk loss… but must rebuild his career

ANTHONY JOSHUA has been told to rebuild his career if he still wants a shot at Tyson Fury.

The Gypsy King’s promoter Frank Warren confirmed Fury will meet AJ’s conqueror Oleksandr Usyk in a unification tie.

Fury could then face AJ but Warren says the Watford man has work to do.

He insisted: “If AJ manages to get a couple of wins under his belt — and I believe Tyson will beat Usyk — that may be a fight to be made.

“But AJ’s got to re-establish himself before you can even think about fights like that.

“He was badly exposed against Andy Ruiz Jr and the last two fights show what you need to do to beat him.

“All you’ve got to do is keep him on his back foot. If you can move and you’ve got fast hands, he struggles.”

Warren has been working on an undisputed heavyweight decider between WBA, IBF and WBO champ Usyk and his star attraction Fury, the WBC king, for a couple of months.

December 17 in Riyadh is in the diary — with around £125million on the table — so he can even afford to have a sideline in AJ’s latest rebuild.

The Saudi royal family are already budgeting to land the marquee Fury v Usyk event.

And their plan to host it the day before football’s World Cup final in Qatar — to steal some of their neighbours’ thunder — is seen as a masterstroke as they fight to become the tourist powerhouse in the region.

Fury has already started the trash talk and now it is just left to Warren, the desert royals and Team Usyk to thrash out the deal.

Queensberry promoter Warren added: “The challenge is going to be meeting the financial expectations of both guys.

“It’s the first time for God knows how long four belts are on the line. It’s going to be all about money.

“They’ve seen the money offered to [LIV Tour] golfers. This is more dangerous than golf and is a unique, historic event. It’s the ultimate prize in boxing.”
