And reports in France claim the club are eyeing the Borussia Monchengladbach ace as their first deal of the summer.

RMC Sport write how Spurs have ‘prioritised’ the forward with the player ‘expected to leave the club’ this summer.

The article adds how ‘talks between the two clubs have moved forward’ in the last few days.

Thuram, 23, scored eight times in 29 Bundesliga appearances last season playing both as a striker and out on the left-wing.

Tottenham’s quest to sign Thuram is unlikely to be a direct replacement for star man Harry Kane.

The captain is ready for pastures new but won’t decide his future until after the Euros.
