Slavia Prague’s Kudela banned for Arsenal clash while Uefa investigate claims he racially abused Rangers star Kamara

SLAVIA PRAGUE star Ondrej Kudela will miss the Europa League clash with Arsenal after Uefa provisionally suspended him pending their investigation into claims of racism against Rangers star Glen Kamara.

The European governing body say they have opened proceedings against Kudela in relation to a potential violation of Article 14 (1) and/or 15 (1) of their disciplinary regulations.

Meanwhile, Kamara is being investigated for a potential violation of Article 15 (1).

The action follows an investigation into the matter by a Uefa-appointed Spanish lawyer into the events following the Europa League last-16 tie.

Kamara claims he was racially abused by Kudela who denies the charge.

Furthermore, Kudela claims he was assaulted by the Rangers midfielder in the tunnel after the match.

A Slavia spokesperson was reported on Tuesday saying their player would miss the meeting with Arsenal this week due to a medical issue arising from the recent Czech Republic meeting with Wales.

But Kudela will now be suspended for the first-leg tie.

A Uefa statement read: “In accordance with Article 49 DR, the CEDB today decided to provisionally suspend Mr Ondrej Kudela for the next (1) UEFA club competition match.”

Under Uefa rules, Kudela faces a minimum TEN-game ban if the racism charge is proven.

Kamara could miss up to five European matches if he is guilty of assault, which the Rangers man emphatically denies.

Police Scotland are also investigating both charges – although no arrests have been made.

Arsenal are due to host Slavia Prague in the first-leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash on Thursday night with kick-off 8pm.

The second-leg in Czech Republic will be played a week later.
