PAUL Gascoigne dived into a restaurant fish tank in his best suit to grab a lobster — after getting tired of waiting for one to be served.
The former England ace, 54, claimed he then stunned other diners by tucking into the crustacean while still wearing his dripping wet suit.
He said: “I went to a posh restaurant and ordered lobster because I’d seen they had a massive lobster tank.
“I pointed to the one I wanted but they were taking so long I thought ‘What are they doing? I’ll just get it myself.’
“So I dived into the tank in my best suit.”
The former footballer said he was playing for Lazio in Italy in the 1990s when he visited the restaurant in Rome.
He added: “It took me a while swimming around to catch the one I fancied. When I finally did I hooked it out. Then I ate it in my dripping wet suit.”
Gazza also played for Tottenham, Newcastle, Everton, Middlesbrough and Rangers and was famous for his pranks with fish and animals.
He hid dead fish in teammates’ cars at Newcastle and Rangers until the smell became unbearable.
Gazza also once turned up to Spurs training with an ostrich and kidnapped a swan from a golf course in Scotland.
And when he played in Italy he caught a 2ft snake at his villa and put it in a team-mate’s jacket pocket.
