Next Watford manager odds: Former Chelsea and Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri favourite set to take over from Xisco

CLAUDIO RANIERI is odds-on favourite to replace Xisco as Watford manager.

That’s according to bookmakers Betfair, who have priced up a list of managerial candidates who could succeed Xisco at Vicarage Road.

Xisco was appointed mid-way through the Championship season in December 2020 and guided the club to promotion in his debut campaign.

The 41-year-old boasted a 58 per cent win percentage as Hornets boss – winning 21 of his 36 fixtures.

One of those victories came on the opening weekend of the 2021-22 Premier League season against Aston Villa.

But Watford failed to build on that victory, winning just one of their following six league games.

And that’s led Xisco to become yet another managerial casualty at Vicarage Road.

Watford have become the team synonymous with a constant rotation of managers.

Next is Paulo Fonseca – who was linked with Tottenham in the summer – offered at 9s.

Eddie Howe and Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui are outside bets at 13/1 and 14/1 respectively.
