‘Frustrated’ Bellerin so desperate for Arsenal transfer exit he is ‘willing to slash pay’ amid Inter and Barca interest

HECTOR BELLERIN is reportedly so desperate to leave Arsenal that he’s willing to slash his pay packet to make it happen.

The ‘frustrated’ defender is growing increasingly disillusioned with life at the Emirates and is prepared for his pockets to take a hit to get out of there, according to The Athletic.

They also claim that the 26-year-old has expressed his desire to leave to the Gunners hierarchy, boss Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu, who he feels are preventing him from departing.

This comes after Inter Milan were interested in ending his North London nightmare but the Gunners played hardball in negotiations.

Inter are only looking at a one-year loan with an option to make the deal permanent next summer.

But Arsenal want a guaranteed fee before they will even consider allowing their vice-captain and longest-serving player to leave.

It is understood that Arsenal are looking for around £15million for Bellerin, who still has two years remaining on his £100,000-a-week contract.

The Spaniard has also attracted interest from his ex-club Barcelona, where he spent eight years at their prestigious La Masia academy before heading to Arsenal in 2011.

Back in March it was even alleged that the Catalan giants had an agreement in place for Bellerin if Joan Laporta was voted in as president – which he subsequently was.

Laporta held talks with Bellerin’s representatives to negotiate a fee to bring him back to his home city at the time, the Daily Mirror reported.

But with the LaLiga outfit’s shortage of cash right now, a move to the Nou Camp seems unlikely.

It’s also been claimed that the reason Bellerin is so desperate for a fresh start away from the club at which he’s spent the last decade is to get his international career back on track.

He managed to get 25 Premier League starts last season but with competition from Calum Chambers, Cedric Soares and Ainsley Maitland-Niles at right-back, that number is likely to decrease this term.

Despite his desire to pack his bags, Bellerin was an unused sub in the Arsenal squad that lost 2-0 to Brentford in their Prem opener.
